It would make everything so much easier if we were able to update it when we are starting a new city, or when we know for sure the mods are up to date.

Different versions become problematic when it comes to both providing support and modding the game. When everyone is on the same version of the game, no matter what expansions they have or when they started playing, mods all reference the same code base. We can have a list like the spreadsheet of mods that are known to not work, modders can make their mods compatible with each other, and modders only need to m... Read more

Let's keep the swearing to a minimum, thanks! I know it's frustrating having to troubleshoot mods, but I'm afraid that's part of the package when you mod the game. We cannot guarantee that 3rd party modifications of the game work, that's why there's a warning when you first enable mods. We offer early access to a lot of the modders so they're able to prepare updates and have a pinned thread to help with the process. I'm afraid that the choice is to either mod the game and go through mods when there's an update or not mod the game. I know that's not the options you are hoping for, but as we have already announced the next update, this won't be the last time you go through your mods.

We're down to just 3 known broken mods and a few minor issues (most of which carried over from Plazas & Promenades). The Steam Workshop servers are having some issues, so keep that in mind when testing out a modded save, but it's possible your save is good to go already. Of course, make sure to save as a new file just in case some issues are discovered later.

I find it strange that even roads that I have created but not uploaded to Steam are not displayed in the Road Editor.

I'll just wait for the servers to work properly again.

Thank you for your quick feedback. You from CO are a dream team! :-)

No changes should affect this, however, the Steam Workshop servers are having some issues at the moment, which may cause some trouble. Do you see the networks in the content manager? What about the Steam Workshop section of the content manager?

Not a lot of mods seem to have broken this time and the modders are already updating mods. 16 have already been updated. Please be patient while the modders do their thing. :)

It's a smaller update so fewer mods should be affected.

The Roads & Vehicles update is out and with it patch 1.15.1. If you don’t use mods, then enjoy the new content and check out the patch notes below!

Patch notes[forum.paradoxplaza.com]
Steam Workshop is currently experiencing some issues which may disrupt mods updating. Please be patient while Valve sorts out the issue
However, if you do play modded, you will be greeted with a new notification when you start the game alerting you that some mods you are subscribed to haven't been created for the current version of the game. Opening the Content Manager will show you which mods were not made for the current version of the game, however, this does not mean the mod is broken. The notification is there to help troubleshoot but... Read more

Greetings mayors! I’m delighted to present our free content update, Roads & Vehicles, coming on the 15th of November! As the name suggests, it includes new roads and vehicles, not just for the base game, but for several DLCs as well - including cross-DLC roads! Yes, we have pedestrian streets with trams for you, and much more!

Previously, we haven’t included content that uses features from more than one expansion. This has meant not including some options, like pedestrian streets with trams, but it has also meant that no matter what DLCs you might have, you would have access to all content when purchasing a new expansion.

But we see the cool ideas and suggestions you have, and we have wanted a way to add cross-DLC content. The Roads & Vehicles update is our first step to include some of these ideas and focuses on the base game, After Dark, Snowfall, and Plazas & Promenades content.

New Vehicles Let’s dive into the new content starting with veh... Read more

Originally posted by Gigi Daša: Hello jmadton, i have the same problem. I tried all the suggestions (also firewall and antivirus exceptions) from many forums, including the link provided by MaxFX.

What i found is, if i remove launcher (run C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\launcher-installer-windows), and i exit the Steam, reopen the Steam as administrator, then run desktop shortcut for the game, launcher will quickly install, and if i press play, it asks me "still installing ... play anyway" then i get into the game. So i have to press play(anyway) before the updating fails.

Probably there is something wrong with Paradox launcher. If i wait the launcher to update, the updating fails, and then i c...

How far do you get? Do you see the Paradox Launcher after pressing Play in Steam? Can you get to the main menu of the game?

I recommend you try verifying game files through Steam first if the maps are not listed in the Content Manager for you.

Is this after setting up the bypass too? The launcher should no longer be downloaded after doing that.

Please check to make sure the cities.bat file is the correct file type. If you have common file extensions hidden it may not have been changed from a .txt file to a .bat file, but has ended up as cities.bat.txt which would not work.
