Yup, temperatures will change on all maps if you have Snowfall installed. A tropical map shouldn't get cold enough to use electricity to heat up houses, and afaik there's no need to cool houses (no AC for our citizens!), which would explain the increase in consumption you see.

Do you have any factories that might halt production at times (and stop consuming electricity)? Industries DLC areas might do this when they are waiting for resources to be delivered.

More information will help us help you. Are we talking about roads/tracks from the workshop? Or the default ones?

Have you added/removed any mods lately? Have any of the workshop assets you use updated recently?

- Start by building on pause
- Start small, keep things somewhat close together
- Don't build out large road systems until your city makes a decent profit
- Pause the game whenever something goes wrong
- Make sure your city gets clean water

Definitely check to make sure you don't have a filter enabled on the menu. I've done that more than a few times and wondered where something went.

This would be my guess as well. If you don't have any heating plants, then electricity will be used to heat houses as temperatures go down.

Originally posted by grapplehoeker: At a guess, I would suggest it was removed because it was a rant and not a topic for discussion. It was not constructive, it was not respectful and it was nothing new.

This is spot on. The launcher has been discussed over and over again, and the discussions tend to derail into bickering and tangently related topics. Discussing the launcher isn't a problem, but starting with a rant does not lead anywhere constructive - and the responses to your post already had it headed down the drain.

To nudge this thread in a more constructive direction, I'm curious as to what features would make the launcher feel useful to you?

Make sure the launch option for Steam is exactly -noWorkshop as the caps matter.

Setting up a pagefile like snowflitzer suggests might solve your crashing, at least if it's memory related that usually does the trick. But if you can post your crash logs somewhere (specifically the error.log and the output_log.txt) I'd be happy to take a look.

Here's a few sites you can upload files to without needing an account. Then you can share the link to the logs here. :)

https://uploadfiles.io/ - free, no sign-up, can handle large log files
https://paste.ee/ - fast, no sign-up required (some log files will be too large for it though)

Oh yeah, Citywokcitywall's build looks crazy good! It's amazing what can be done with the game using custom mods and assets!

Good news is the boats you linked earlier definitely got removed from your game again, so they aren't the cause of the giant boat at least.

Do you have any other ships/boats from the workshop? Or did you add anything else in the same time frame as this started happening?

I still see the mods mentioned above in that log. Did you unsubscribe them and restart the game? If yes, try restarting Steam as well. It might not be updating your subscriptions.

If you select the pasture and hover over the "Crops" part, it will show you how much is left.

I'm not sure how well switching from LABS to STABLE works, but you could always try that.

I will need a log from right after you've had the error and the giant boat appeared. :)

I did spot some old mods though that should be removed.

- Ploppable RICO - get Ploppable RICO Revisited instead
- Painter - get Repaint instead
- Pause on load - this is an option in the game, so just remove this mod
- Advanced Toolbar - use More Advanced Toolbar or Resize It instead
- Water Color Changer - honestly not sure about this one, but I know Environment Colors Changer works
- No More Purple Pollution [Brown Water] - use No More Radioactive Desert and more instead
- No More Purple Pollution - use No More Radioactive Desert and more instead
- More Beautification - use Find It instead

Remove those mods, get the replacements and make sure to enable the replacements. Then restart the game and try to load the save with the giant boat problem. Then upload the output log somewhere again and link to it, so I can have another look and hope... Read more

OP states cattle not getting any resources...Do cattle not reside in pastures designed for grazing? Now I know that pigs don't normally graze but this after all is CS so why not let pigs graze? Point is if as it says pastures are used for grazing what other resources would they need?

As you'll notice there's no grass in the pastures, they'll need crops to feed them. ;)

Okay, it's best to leave behind the notion of how things work in real life, because this is a game, where things need to be simplified for the simulation to work on the average computer system and also be fun for players to interact with.

Pastures are "processors... Read more

Can you upload the file somewhere instead please? Paste.ee is really impractical to look through these long logs on. It's so much easier for me if you just upload the .txt file somewhere, so I can download it and only look at the raw text file.

Check your storages that hold grain. Are all the trucks in use? Or most of them? If yes, that's your problem. You need enough storage so that some of them don't have all their trucks in use all the time. Otherwise there are no trucks to deliver to your cattle.

Originally posted by Costarring: Place your cattlefarm between the cropfield and the closest/nearest storage.
This way, the trucks will deliver grain to your cattlefarms

Always:

Resources ------> Conversion -----> Storage -----> Factory/Outside connection

Crops ------> Cattle/Flourmill -------> Storage ------> Factory/Outside

You're missing storage between "Resource" and "Conversion" - otherwise you rely on your field... Read more

Nope, no DLC like that. But there is a lot of content on the workshop, which would allow you to build a futuristic city.

That is definitely way too much for your system to handle. For assets your 16GB is expected to be able to handle around 800-1200 assets. Anything beyond that relies on the pagefile, which can affect performance and once that's full, the game will crash. You should probably at least half the amount of assets you're using. You can use Steam collections to keep track of any nice ones you might want to use at a later point.

For mods 400 is a LOT. I'm almost certain you have some which overlap. Make sure you read description of all of them to understand what you do and only subscribe to the ones you need. Mods are ... Read more

It sounds like there's something else at play here. The best way for us to help is for you to share your output log somewhere. This guide explains where to find it and suggests some sites to upload to. Some of them don't even require you to set up an account, so it's pretty easy to do. Just post a link to the log here and I'll have a look.
