That would explain it yes. GeForce Now doesn't support mods sadly. :/

Also make sure you don't have any old and broken mods, that might cause this. That includes:

- Fine Road Tool (original, not version 2)
- Fine Road Anarchy (original, not version 2)
- Road Anarchy
- Road Anarchy 2
- Advanced Road Anarchy
- Low Bridges High Dams
- Sharp Junction Angles

You would either replace it yourself or you can get a computer store to put in a new processor for a fee. It's important to make sure it uses the same type of socket as the one you have now, so that it will fit in your motherboard, to make sure your power supply can handle it and make sure to get a cooler that fits it as well (unless it comes with a cooler).

Ah unlucky timing! :/ At least there's bound to be more sales, even if they're a while away.

Originally posted by Badshot Bob: But yea definitely keep an eye on the paradox store as well, pretty sure you get a steam key from them.

Yup, that's correct. The Paradox Store gives you a Steam key, so those sales are worth it too (provided regional pricing on Steam isn't a thing for you). :)

RAM won't really make much of a difference, if any. You could upgrade your CPU which would mean the slow down would happen later with a larger population. The game is optimzed for a 4-core/8-thread CPU (you have a 4-core/4-thread), so something like a 6-core/12-thread CPU would handle the game and system processes better than what you have now.

Cities has helped me relax so much, that I actually just sometimes play the theme music while doing other stuff, because it has a similar effect. I do love just chilling while working on one of my cities! Or watching some of the amazing builds others do. It's inspiring and works great to take my mind of things for a while. ^^

Make sure you're using the right tools. Industries and Campus has their own area tools, which are similar to districts, but also slightly different. The best way to go about it is to paint in the area with the appropriate tool, then place a main building to set the type. Then you will be able to place buildings in the area.

There's the Industries area tool highlighted. The Campus one is the right-most icon.

Summer Sale ended not so long ago, so I'm afraid you just missed some good deals. If you add the DLCs you're interested in to your wishlist on Steam, you'll get notified when there's a sale again.

You can also sign up for the Paradox Newsletter (requires a Paradox account) and check Cities: Skylines on the list of games. Then you'll receive an email when there's a sale, which also includes sales on Paradox's own store.

I recommend reporting this on the official support and bug forums.

If you're unsure about removing a mod from a city, you can always try. There's a few things, which are good to keep in mind when doing this:

  • Back up the save first. Go find the file in the saves folder (C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Saves) and make a copy of it to keep somewhere else.
  • Always save as a new file. This doesn't just go for testing mods, but generally it's best to always save as a new file when saving your city, so you have multiple versions of a save. This is especially important when removing a mod, as issues aren't always visible right away. Sometimes you can play for some hours before realising your city actually needed that mod.
  • You can always add the mod back. If the city is in chaos or you're getting a million errors when loading without the mod, just shut the game down without saving and add the mod back. If you don't save, the city should be ...

Check under Styles in the Content Manager and make sure the European Style is enabled. If it is or if that doesn't get you back the buildings you are looking for, then check your DLCs in Steam to make sure they are all enabled.

This is completely normal and expected to happen as the city grows. The more citizens you have, the more calculations the CPU has to make. At some point our CPUs (even the most powerful ones) just can't do all the calculations as fast as they could, when the city was small. So time slows down in the game, so your CPU can keep up.

The best way for us to help you is to see your output log (called player.log on Mac and Linux). This guide explains where to find it and recommends some sites you can upload the file to, since we can't attach files here on Steam. Then just post a link to where you uploaded it here.

Ah, Steam is being annoying then. This happens sometimes. What usually works for me is logging out of Steam, shutting Steam down, restarting it and logging back in. Sometimes subscribing to something else also forces Steam to wake up and download things properly.

Perfect. Let's start with mods. You have some old ones that should be removed:

- Network Skins - switch to Network Skins 2
- Net Picker 2.0 - switch to Picker 1.2
- Demand Master - dynamic demand is broken, better to switch to another demand mod such as Super Demand
- Prop It Up - I recommend switching to Prop Switcher
- Time Warp 2 - Ultimate Eyecandy does everything this does and more, plus it's newer
- Ploppable RICO - switch to Ploppable RICO Revisited

Next there's some broken assets which should also be solved - either by getting the thing they need to work, or by unsubscribing them.

Sample Intersection is missing ... Read more

If it's sets of assets you are switching between, you can create Steam collections for the different setups and then use the "Subscribe/Unsubscribe All" button in the collection to switch between them. It does mean downloading the different assets each time though.

Another option which is useful if you have mods disable themselves often is to set everything how you like it, exit the game without loading a save, then starting it again to check that everything is enabled/disabled like you want. Then go to C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines and find the file called userGameState.cgs and make a copy of it to keep somewhere else as backup. Then whenever your mods disable themselves, copy the backup and put it back in the folder.

A tip that helps avoid the reset is to use the mod Instant Return To Desktop. It has the issue happen a little less often as the game doesn't try to overwrite the file (and so can't mess it up so it resets).

I see you use Dynamic Resolution. Try to unsubscribe the mod for now to make sure it isn't a setting for the mod doing this. Then restart the game before testing.

I also spotted some old mods I recommend getting rid of. It probably doesn't affect this issue, but still good to solve. Unsubscribe from these:

- Demand Master (dynamic demand is broken, Super Demand can be used as an alternative)
- More Beautification (use Find It instead to browse and place props)
