Sounds like it could very well be a mod doing something it shouldn't. Try disabling all you don't need, or use the -noWorkshop or -disableMods launch option to easily disable either all workshop content or just mods, if you don't need any.

and will it help if I download the missing assets or not?

Thanks!

Downloading more assets will increase memory usage. Everything you're subscribed to takes up a bit of RAM. So the less you're subscribed to, the less RAM is used.

The link to the asset will help us determine if it's a problem with it specifically. It might not be, but it's the easiest place to start.

You can post a screenshot to a site like https://imgur.com/ or you can upload it to a cloud drive. If it was taken with F12 and Steam, you can even upload it here by going to the game in your library and scrolling down until you see the screenshots on the right.

What are you trying to do in the editor, when you get this error? Just loading the editor? Or importing a custom model?

You should start by disabling any mods you don't absolutely need in the editor. Most mods aren't designed for the editors and break a lot of things, so disabling them is the best way to go.

There's a few mods which can help recover a save from a simulation error. You can add them all at the same time and they will work fine together. Just make sure you enable them all.

And lastly there's the Loading Screen Mod, which has a Safe Mod... Read more

it shows just a few assets that I subscribed 10min before playing...

So the default mods are gone too?

You get the popup then. Go to your game Library in Steam, right click on Cities Skylines, select Properties, go to the tab called Local Files and click the button Browse Local Files. Then find the latest folder from a crash - its name is a date followed by a number. Upload the files in it somewhere and link it here.

You can use these sites or a cloud drive:

https://uploadfiles.io/ - free, no sign-up, can handle large log files
https://paste.ee/ - fast, no sign-up required (some log files will be too large for it though)
https://zerobin.net/ - bit clunky, but can handle huge files, no sign-up required

Are you using mods? Does something like this happen if you build on another map too?

The water needs to reach a certain height behind the dam for it to let any through and produce power. If the water doesn't get that high, it stops working. This picture shows how high it needs to get - make sure the dam is low enough and/or the shores are high enough for water to fill up like that.

It sounds like you're fairly new to modding, so I recommend checking out this guide. It covers the basics, like different type of buildings and how to find them in game. :)

I recommend the Beginner's Guide to mods as well. Even if you aren't a complete beginner, it's a really good guide.

And some mod collections to go along with it. Make sure to read descriptions and pick the mods you want! Don't just subscribe to all in a collection - that's a recipe for a broken game. :)

Can you link to the specific asset you're using? It might be a problem with it (or rather the LOD which is displayed when you zoom out), or it might be another asset messing with things.

Yeah, you definitely don't need both those mods. :)

But they probably aren't the reason for the game crashing. The most common reason is running out of memory. If you haven't specified a size for your pagefile, that would be the place to start, as the game just runs more stable with a set size. I recommend setting it to 32 GB.

Good to hear you figured it out! ^^ I'm curious, which mod allows you to limit the amount of people at a stop?

The file you've linked to isn't set to public.

From the sound of it, you have a lot of assets which aren't working. They might be missing some mod that's required for them to work, or they may simply be broken and should be removed. The Loading Screen Mod can generate a list of broken assets with links to what they need to work (or if there's nothing, they should just be removed).

I'm currently gradually adding assets back in that I want to use in my next play through very methodically to see if I can isolate sources of potential crashes. If I get another crash in the next day or so I'll circle back here and post.

PS - Your assets are amazing. Thanks for everything you've done for this community.

Thank you! ^^

I would go with 128 GB in your case. 192 GB should hopefully be overkill. ... Read more

Locking this since it isn't about Cities: Skylines. Please use the correct game's discussion forum instead. :)

Reading your OP again, I just realised that you mention your tracks have also been lowered. This is known to happen with 81 tiles as you buy more city tiles. The only way to deal with that is buy all remaining tiles and then redo your metro network at the correct height.

I do not wish to hijack the thread but as long as you mentioned it here I go any way.

Seems like a lot of trouble... Activate mods for game...Deactivate for editor...Reactivate for...... O Well y...
