Hey all,

Thanks for the feedback. Here are some general notes I'll be passing up to the team:

  • Removal of weapons outright (not providing alternate acquisition sources) can be frustrating after multiple seasons of hunting a specific weapon and not getting a drop, or a "good" roll. (Good is in quotes as this can be subjective based on the player!)
  • Players would like to see many of these weapons shifted to umbrals, or in the case of Rituals, shifted to a focusing system akin to Trials

Wanted to give some more details on the "why" for this as well:
The team has been full steam ahead on the next year of Destiny content. Witch Queen, Season 16, and more. While they'd love to maintain some acquisition sources for many of the weapons being rotated out, we don't have infinite resources to dedicate to this. I've posted on here before about prioritization in development and how some things need focus over others, and this...

Posting this again for visibility. As far as I’m aware, it has not been acknowledged by Bungie.

Is the team aware that Peregrine Greaves isn’t working consistently? It seems to be using the old shoulder charge activation timer. The result is that you can hit an in-air shoulder charge and it ends up doing the base, non-lethal damage. This typically results in the user dying. Feels pretty bad given the level of investment required and risk associated with the ability. Example provided at the timestamp below. This happens very frequently, unfortunately. Has been like this since the 30th anniversary update dropped.

We will have someone look into it. Thanks for the report!

I appreciate your patience!

HDR is a tricky space to execute. Even when it is "correct," it can still subjectively feel washed out, compared to an SDR image with an out-of-range gamut expansion that has become increasingly common as manufacturers try to get their image to "pop."

There was a lot of foundational visual technology we built as part of this effort that should, over the long term, benefit both SDR and HDR visuals. But for this initial release, we wanted to focus on providing a friendlier, more flexible HDR experience. Using DIM isn't very fun when HDR required exclusive fullscreen.

Can you describe what you mean by pitched? Like angled while it was trying to rev up torque?

Or when you run it at full speed and stop suddenly?

Haha sorry for leading you astray with my wording. I actually mean like taking the (musical) pitch of the sound itself and modifying it to be lower, and ramping up in pitch over time. Purely post production/sound design techniques to the sample itself

Hey hey! Welcome back, haha. For future reference, you can just send us a modmail instead of hunting down old comments.

You'll be happy to know that your flair does indicate you as a sound designer! Every flair is comprised of two parts, the image and the descriptive text. We already have you covered on the descriptive text :)

On old reddit, when a user hovers over your name, or, if they have subreddit styling turned off.

And on new reddit, by default!

The image itself (the thing that says "Bungie") is tied to the bot, and that's the special default flair we give to all Bungie employees!

I can upgrade you to "Senior Sound Designer" though ;)

Thank you so much!

Mod here: Would you like the flair?

Or would you rather remain among the shadows?

Fantastic job on those sounds mate :)

hi! I was wondering if you all do the type of discipline as part of the flair. Right now my flair just says Bungie, but could it also say my title? Senior Sound Designer? Let me know, thank you!

That’s so cool! If you can answer more, I’ve always wanted to know what the Graviton Lance sound is.

Went to a black hole factory and recorded a bunch of black holes for that one! ;p

Yes, dude. I wanna know how they made it.

I'll just say the most iconic part of the sound itself was made from a pitched drill sound!

I hear you, and thanks for the feedback.

Plan was to keep this TWAB focused on armor mods (between changes to the artifact and a sneak peek at champ mods), with weapon news coming in just a few weeks. I understand this change impacts weapons specifically due to the nature of the change, but still wanted to keep the conversations split as we're still getting information together for the weapons TWAB. We've done this a few times before, going from weapons -> armor -> mods -> other, but obviously these had a little too much overlap to have a clean split.

Apologies for the lack of a full picture here. We've got bit to cover over the next 5 TWAB's, want to make sure each team gets enough time to finish up their content and work with us on the messaging. While we want to get you all of the information the moment we hear about it, sometimes things are still being tied down and we don't want to make promises that we end up not being able to keep. That said, we can do mo...

I can tell you now, it won't be. Can't give any specific dates, but don't get too hyped for the first TWAB of the year.

Usually they're light. Still have folks coming back from holiday and whatnot. We'll try to find some news to cover so it isn't too light.

We've got some emails out to the team about this.

Cheers to all who are hopping in to help New Lights in need.

Appreciate the report. We have sent this issue over to the team to look into. Hopefully we can make new lights first interaction with the fantastic horse a more positive one.

Good feedback. I personally feel this could have the opposite effect, though. We've seen quite a few players drop off at simple quests steps of completing a few bounties or doing specific strikes. Asking newer players to find specific lost sectors, figure out what mods to wear, and to complete them potentially on their own may just end up dissuading them from ever trying a legend activity, rather than hitting up an LFG to get in on some cool seasonal content and potentially making some friends along the way.

Locked loadouts can be tricky business. While many of us on this subreddit are highly proficient in crafting loadouts and understanding what needs to be equipped before launching in, many players need the LFG component so party leaders can walk them through what mods to equip and what steps would be key to success in the long run. Would be pretty awkward to have 6 players matchmake into a Legend dares run, none of which have an anti-barrier mod equipped or arc-...
