Play a smaller world, other then that I don't think you can do anything other than waiting for the developers to optimize or to buy better hardware. Sadly as the game is indeed incredible.
In that case getting better hardware is the way to go, this does not even slightly fulfill the minimum requirements and never will. We'd also recommend to get a stationary PC, as most Laptops will not be able to power Eco.

But yeah I live in a very small village in Germany and we dont have any better internet connection here. Besides those better connections which wont function very stable on bad weather days. So yep its shitty for me. But it worked for all games so far. And 2 years ago it also worked for Eco, but yeah probably the updates have made it more connection heavy.I assume that the speed isnt the initial issue, because i would only have to wait longer for those layers to download. I think eco or the servers, just give me a disconnect or time out, cause they cant send enough data in time.
Once when i am online and dont open the map, it works perfectly. I see what my friends do, they see what I do without lags.Interestingly, when I open the website for the eco server (This website with all the laws and the world), i have no problems, everything loads, even every layer to show on the world loads almost instantly.
Just to be su...
I live in a small village in Germany as well and got GBit, lol.
Transferring Map data is already chunked, but also very bandwith heavy, that connection is simply too bad to play Eco reliable, that has nothing to do with ports, you don't need any open ports to play.
But then why do I have the same problems to the recommendend Servers or even the offical Test Servers?
Hence i asked what crappy internet you have.
I saw you posted on discord as well, only having 240 kb/s - that's not enough for Eco, world layer updates can burst to 1500 kb/s easily. (Hence system requirements state a broadband connection, this seems to be some very ancient internet.)
In case it is mobile internet, that also won't work reliable.
It's a known issue with Nitrado on their side that connections can be bad. I'd recommend using a different hoster. You could try sending them a ticket but so far they haven't been either helpful nor cooperating with other clients that i know of.
As you wrote it happens everywhere though, what crappy internet do you have?
Looks like something in the config could be wrong. If you use a panel to edit it, trying via FTP if possible would be good, otherwise chatting with your host might work.
Reddit is not really a good place for support requests.
Send me your latest logs to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]), you find them in /Steam/steamapps/common/Eco/Eco_Data/Server/Logs.
Most likely either your database got corrupted or your mods folder is.
