Because it is. It's the first part of maintenance for things in Eco and as such helping with economical issues on servers that are one of the main reasons why players leave early - when they have nothing more to do, because market is simply saturated by a few, given there is no need to ever replace something.

Food spoilage requires planning and gives better sale chances given there is no way to just queue up orders till christmas. It's fully within the idea of the game as well to make overproduction have consequences.

If you don't like it, you can configure the multiplier in a way it won't be relevant for you.

Eco doesn't support IPV6 currently, no.

It's a video, not a link. Probably a mobile problem, someone else said something similar a while back.

They do, but I'm not sure that works as intended.

Hey Citizens,

the last two weeks we've been working intensively with our community on the public playtests to address arising issues and feedback.

There is still a bit more we need to work on until release, but we're now ready to announce our planned release date for Update 9.6: August 31!

Check out our video summarizing the highlights of Update 9.6 - Food Spoilage, 3D Food, First Person Hands & Animations and our brand new Shop Carts.

It does not yet kill the trees, as I mentioned above. The placement prevention is a workaround.

Tool Strength is a WIP talent that has no effect yet, as there is no trees requiring a different tool strength. Iirc it's replaced in Update 9.6 already.

Unfortunately not yet. We've now started introducing maintenance costs (starting with Food Spoilage) and perspectively Recycling could be part of an update that also adds more garbage variety (like as side product of all crafts) and more need for that, together with possible other options like burning.

Unfortunately, I don't think that is possible. There generally is no need to do so, though, when playing on one of the recommended and supported map sizes.

Originally posted by Cosa: Thank you for your answer, i know that tree farms have heavy effects, but the distance of 5m is really annoying from time to time. I will test it some days, thank you :)

It is only a temporary solution anyway, the simulation will later be adapted so that trees that are placed nearer than 5m will simply die, in accordance with initial world generation.

Only play playtest if you want to test, it's not released yet.

The setting is found in EcoSim.eco, it's called "MinCO2PerDayFromPlants": -500.0.
The point of it is a limitation for users that insist to use bigger worlds than recommended and hence will not experience lots of ecological threat - this limit at least migitates that somewhat, otherwise the value would be extreme on big worlds not suitably chosen for a challenge depending on the amount of players.

You can find the setting in EcoSim.eco, it is called "MinTreeSpawnDistance": 5.
Please note that the respective entry in the UI is marked with a very clear warning - changing this to lower values can have extreme effects on client performance, especially with tree farms. Changing the value is hence unsupported.
