Eco uses language on client and on the server, e.g. the two can have differing languages which means that the server displays server-side stuff in the language that was configured for it. You can change the language for the server in /steamapps/common/Eco/Eco_Data/Server/Configs/Localization.eco, just enter "German". If you're not the admin, you would need to ask the admin of the server if he is willing to do that.

Looks like this issue: https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/issues/23109
It's being investigated.

When you eat a food item, a text pops up over it, telling you how it tasted. Is this something that didn't happen for you or just something you didn't notice? In playtesting this worked quite well, but we can make changes to it, if it's not as obvious as we thought.

No, but a fix is scheduled for a minor update soon.

No, we didn't. It would be pretty hard to, as all the features that were on the poll page were things we picked ourselves for what we would ultimately like to see in Eco at some point during or after Early Access. And if we can, we'd love to have it all.

There is no such command I'm aware of being available to you, but you can send your world to [email protected] to have us check. I can assure you though, that there hasn't been a single world sent in to us so far that did not have any of the ores with a default config. We're always happy to check, though World Generation wasn't touched in last Update.

That is a known issue fixed in the upcoming minor update, thanks for the report.

This image from user Ba1aB on our Discord shows pretty well where you can find which ore:

We have communicated quite openly that we do not intend to have any sales exceeding the 15 (maybe very rarely 20) % mark during Early Access, which is also the amount of discount you can get with a four pack bought on our website at any time, if friends buy the game together.

There is no issues known in regards to the food system. The cravings give you a percentage boost just as the food tastiness does (or a negative bonus when the food does not taste good) while the variety plays a role insofar that a bad variety gives negative bonuses. For the food, make sure that you consistently eat high quality food. Even when you have a 'perfect balance' and satisfy all other needs, your XP may decrease when your stomach is full of low quality food that has a low amount of nutrients compares to things you ate before.

You hence will want to satisfy your food needs with the food that has the most nutrients and is tasting good for your character, while satisfying your cravings and making sure you cycle through enough different such food items for sufficient variety.

In the meanwhile, there is known issues with the storage link range multiplier after restarts which are already fixed for an upcoming minor update. We also found issues relating to the weight multiplier that occur when especially high or low values have been used and other circumstances come together, this is also solved for the next minor update, may entail a limit on the range of the options for now, though, as the problem behind it is a bit bigger than we can fix for a minor update without danger of introducing bigger problems. So, these are actual bugs, do not seem to reset the actual configuration files though, which led me on a wrong track.

Also no worries, all good, really appreciating it though.

The global reputation is the total amount of reputation received, the relative reputation receives a modifier based on your own reputation given to them and reputation given to them from people you gave reputation. It shows a more personal view about their reputation based on who you gave reputation to. I personally never found it very useful, to be honest and it was implemented way before my time at SLG.

We did not, but people still misunderstand that the poll was not a vote on what we will do, but a survey on what people are interested in the most out of what we already planned to have somewhen in Eco's life as a game, with us being fully aware that some topics will drive a lot of interest but won't be realistic to be done in any mid-term timeframe, especially when several of these come into play, like boats. From the beginning we had intended to add parts of all the different design pillars we have due to the vision of the game. It wouldn't have worked any different way either, given we have a clear game goal in mind and people obviously voted for what is 'especially cool'.

That also included "Bug Fixes" being low on the list with relatively few votes compared to trains and boats. I'm very sure that is not the sentiment the majority of the actual players share, though. Also, obviously the features more about our meta-game of society simulation were naturally low voted,... Read more

Given managing communities and owning game servers is my thing for over 15 years now, I am and have always been a strong believer in server admins autonomy that I uphold whereever it comes to it, and it regularly does, given there is more than enough people that would like to see admins to be restricted or non-existing in this and other games.

But from the perspective of a game developer this is not in all cases a desirable thing, especially when it is about content that is not intended for server admins to begin with. These commands in other games are simply hidden, people do not know they exist or need to enable kind of development mode - mostly for singleplayer, if at all available for multiplayer servers that's then mostly going along with a clear warning for any user potentially playing on the server by displaying that the server does have such mode active and taking it out of the regular server lists. (Which we don't have any capability to do currently, so it's not... Read more

The official servers do not have mods that change the game, with exception of White-Tiger, which still does not have any download-requiring mods and no easy-, but only hardmode mods. (Their effect just being detrimental to the whole economy game, as has been mentioned here, hence doing the opposite, to make exactly that more interesting)

For next cycle we for the first time bring depletable oil to the table :)

Resets of servers typically happen on fridays throughout the month, that is also the case for official servers.

Sharing housing experience is achieved by being a resident on the plot. Just having residency also doesn't allow them to take away your stuff, that can only be done with authorization on the deed.

Trains are not a planned feature, but something we'd eventually like to take a look at. There is not much of a realistic chance of that happening before the end of Early Access, though.

Oh, then it is very likely that Steam didn't correctly update it, there had been several issues over the years where Steam was unable to correctly update, so full reinstalls were required. Thanks for noting!

First place very likely would be our discord, where most of the modders are: https://discord.gg/eco

They also have their own official community server which is pinned in our mod channels. The ModKit page on our GitHub might also be helpful, but documentation on things is still in a very early state, given Mod support is still in heavy development.

The restriction of this command is not based on 'cheating', but rather the commands original intention for QA and the fact that it might do things that are unexpected by a user. All commands that were made for this purpose and have never been built for admin use in a safe way are marked this way, no matter if these are especially 'cheaty', especially 'dangerous' or can be used to destroy the server / other players fun; it's solely based on what the command was originally made for. There is only very few comm... Read more
