Hey Multimorti Oramara

We don’t have an exact release date, but the work has been going really well internally. We’re in the final development stages, which is mostly lots of tweaking and defect fixes.

Keep an eye on the news items for a release date.

Just to confirm, the issues you’re encountering (screenshot) are on the MacBook Air M1?
Does the issue persist if you uninstall via Steam and re-install the game?

There are several Linux users, that participated in the early beta, and can be found both in the Linux section of the forums and in the official EVE Online Discord. They may be able to provide you with some guidance regarding getting the launcher/game running under those environments.

As mentioned above, it is no longer supported to run EVE Online on OS 10.14 or below. OS version 10.15 or later is needed to access EVE Online.

Thanks for the feedback. I would like to point out that both are searchable fields

If you know what you’re looking for (i.e. user / character name for launch groups), you can start typing as soon as you’ve selected the field to narrow down the options.

When making launch groups, if you’re wanting it to start up characters, you don’t have to start by picking the username, you can go directly to picking a character, and it will auto-fill the user for it as well.

When prompted, just confirm the directory, then click install.

For users with the old launcher default directory it should show as C:/EVE/SharedCache

Comment

If you’ve partaken in the beta previously, check if you have the “Download the full client” option enabled in the settings, you can then disable it and restart the launcher to prevent it from downloading the full game client.

If the [install] button is clicked when prompted without changing the directory, it will use the previous install directory, then check for any updates and apply them if necessary. If you change the directory that was suggested, it may result in a new instance of the client being downloaded & installed.

Note: 33+GB is the expected size for a full game client, which if you don’t let the launcher download, the client will download it for you while playing. The old launcher was not transparent about this expected requirement for a full game client.

CTRL+F (MacOS ⌘+F) → Search for characters | Search for account

The relevant account/character will be selected in the list. You can also opt for directly starting characters/accounts from the search.

Comment

Did you change the location of the client installation, when prompted by the new launcher? Or did you immediately click [Install]?

If the latter, and you’re not seeing the profiles in the drop-down to apply them per account, you may…

  • Open the Settings (cog icon top right)
  • Select Tools / Cache
  • Click on the Look for Profiles button

This should populate your dropdowns with profiles that have previously been used when starting clients.

Yes we have!

It will suggest the location where it believes the existing installation is.

If that is where you client files have been installed before, just click the blue install button and it should continue on without re-downloading the entire client.

If you’re uncertain, open that path in Windows Explorer, and if you see a ResFiles directory, then you’re good!

The best thing to do is to get in touch with Geforce Now Support.

Unfortunately, CCP cannot provide support for third-party service provider issues.

We’ve become aware of an issue where the EVE client will crash or freeze if the sound is enabled and the character is located or jumping into an insurgency affected system. Typically, this issue presents as audio becoming intermittent after entering a corrupted or suppressed system.

This is not impacting all players.

The developers are looking into the issue but in the meantime if you encounter client crashes or freezes after jumping into an insurgency affected system or straight after selecting a character then please access the settings menu via the ESC key and uncheck the Audio Enabled option in the Audio tab.

o7 Capsuleers!

The CSM has been diligently working over the past few months, engaging in discussions with design teams across various disciplines. We’re now eagerly anticipating the CSM 18 Summit.

The CSM will convene here in Reykjavik, Iceland during the first week of February. Our daily meetings are scheduled from February 5th to 9th. Throughout the Summit, the CSM will chat directly with development teams who are building updates and features for the 2024 Summer and Winter expansions. Additional discussions will cover the progress of other CCP projects in relation to EVE Online. On Friday, the CSM will present various topics company-wide at CCP. This addition to the Summit format has proven to be extremely valuable.

Here are the Summit topics, listed in no particular order:

Hello everyone,

There will be extended downtime on Thursday, 25 January for work on the EVE Online Network and Hardware.

We expect this work will take up to 10 minutes beyond the regular downtime end time and estimate that the server will be available at 11:25 UTC.

Please note that TQ will be bought back online as soon as the work is completed, which can be ahead of schedule of the previously mentioned downtime.

Updates of the progress will be posted here, and if the update time exceeds this window, it will also be posted on the status page.

Edit:
Work was completed ahead of schedule and Tranquility was online and accepting connections at 11:13 UTC

CCP Burger’s real name is Bergur. At player meets (and at work) many people would end up tweaking his name to “Burger”, so he adopted the moniker as his own

You’re absolutely right, we missed the mark on this one. Thank you for creating a thread for us, though - we’re always eager to hear player perspectives!
