02/11/2025—February 11 Release Notes Note to users of third-party programs: The game may not launch or work properly after we release a new build if you use a third-party program, due to possible incompatibilities. ArenaNet cannot offer support if a third-party modification breaks, interferes with, or prevents you from playing Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2. Our policy regarding third-party programs can be found here. General Added jade bot merchants, jade bot workbenches, charging stations, jade bot defensive protocols, and jade bot offensive protocols to all lounge passes. Effects provided by the protocols will remain limited to their intended game modes. Updated the mysterious gate in the Thousand Seas Pavilion to include fishing teleport locations in the Horn of Maguuma if the player owns the Secrets of the Obscure expansion and Janthir locations if the player owns the Janthir Wilds expansion. This is now fixed, apologies for the confusion. This was a UI issue only; the server was correctly locked out and any attempted changes after the lockout date (11:59 PM PT February 3rd, 2025) were not accepted.

We will be updating our User Agreement and Privacy Policy on February 11. The changes will be in section 2.2.3 (Obligations) of the User Agreement and the "If you apply for a job with us" portion of Section II (What types of information does ArenaNet collect?) of the Privacy Policy. You can read the updates at the above links on February 11. You will also see a notification in the Guild Wars 2 game launcher the first time you log in after the game build is live on February 11.

Just adding a quick note on this--lounges do provide the option to teleport to Arborstone and the Wizard's tower. You need to unlock access to these areas through the story first, but after that the option is available account-wide.

During the recent Steam outage, a change in how Steam’s API verified expansion ownership caused Guild Wars 2 Steam accounts to be incorrectly marked as Play for Free accounts, regardless of their actual status. Once we identified the issue, we implemented a fix to restore the correct expansion status for all affected players. No progress or items were lost, and all impacted accounts have been returned to their proper status. This issue lasted for approximately ten hours. We understand how frustrating and concerning this was for those affected, and we sincerely apologize. To thank you for your patience, we are applying 800 gems to all impacted accounts. No action is needed—your gems will be automatically applied later today and will be available for use the next time you log in. Thank you for your understanding!
