Hotfix Version: 0.5.0.76930 has been deployed with a CONFIRMED fix to the "039"/"037" error
To ensure you have fix, check the version in top right of menu ends in 76930. If not, try "verify cache".

NOTE: We are changing the option to use DirectX 12 from 'Experimental' to 'Unstable' to better represent it's state. You should only be using this if you are trying to solve a problem that you've hit a dead end on, as a last resort. Please use DirectX 11 otherwise

Currently only stamina. This will change for *some* tools for BW3 (next beta weekend)

Hotfix Version: 0.5.0.76910 has been deployed for the Icarus Beta
This contains balance changes - but does NOT yet fix the "037" or "039" errors - we are working on that now and I will update.

If you are receiving an infinite 'preparing geometry' loading screen, this is also tied to errors 037 and 039 which we are working on

If you are NOT experiencing the "037" error, you can download the advance beta build that has the balance changes, by typing "bearsarefriends" to open up "bw2test" in the beta off the app.

Otherwise, the full update that fixes the 037 error will deploy to the main beta branch in ~30mins. It's uploading to steam now.

Fix confirmed for 037 bug. Im testing the balance now. About 40mins to deploy.

Perhaps - the error is the default text for an error, so the text is "wrong". It's a timeout caused by the game taking longer than it expected to load in, and timing out with the server trying to send it data to make the prospect. We have a fix, testing it.

We are certainly fixing the "can't make a prospect" 037 error.

Im watching them fix it right now @Moobs. Once the fix is committed, we will test it and then i'll post the results of that here. If we can confirm it works, and doesn't break other stuff, we will push it live.

We are preparing a hotfix with:
* Some fixes for connection issues some are experiencing (those who don't seem to be able to make a new prospect, but can join their friends)
* Lowering the bear spawn rate a bit (a lot of bears were spawning)
* Nerfing infected/festering wounds, as they were extremely punishing for lower level players
* Increasing the ladder "stack" size - how many ladders you can stack on each other
* A lot of other small little balance tweaks.

Will be testing internally, then deploying. Target is within two hours of this post, but subject to change.

Beta Weekend 1 was a huge success!

Hey all! Please find below a shortened version of our overall patch notes for Beta Weekend #2. This will provide a more detailed breakdown of some of the other changes we've made.

Many bug fixes and optimizations:

  • Fixed mineable voxel rocks (metals, oxite etc) respawning when you reload a saved prospect.
  • Fixed a bug so animals can no longer see through cave walls or structures.
  • Fixed an issue where characters could become locked out of a prospect due to incorrectly being flagged as having left via dropship.
  • Fixed an issue where it was impossible to place items or structures on ground previously occupied by broken building pieces.
  • Animals will no longer attempt to walk through space occupied by player dropships.
  • Fixed a problem where characters could end up in a ‘bad state’, preventing them from starting new prospects.
