Yup, this is something I went on a rant about roughly 3 weeks ago on stream. I got out the paint and did up a messy graph to try and articulate myself but the issue I was outlying boiled down to essentially what you’re talking about in the monolith.

Like new parents, I think we’ve been a little too worried about preventing players from getting themselves into a too difficult spot and it’s left us not allowing players who are ahead of the curve the room to run.

The second sentence says: “It’s impossible to raise the difficulty before reaching the empowered monoliths,.”

The boots raise the difficulty before reaching empowered monoliths.

The 3rd suggestion the OP left starts with “Do something about the early game for alt characters.”

The boots do something about the early game for alt characters.

I didn’t see mention of the boots in the post, thought they fit the description of what OP wanted and they line up with one of their suggestions.

This wasn’t a sarcastic “well have you tried…” type comment. I was putting forward a potential solution that was already in game. It isn’t exactly what they were after and that’s fine. I still think it was a reasonable and appropriate suggestion.

Bug Fixes

-Fixed an issue where the second item suffix would sometimes not display.

-Fixed an issue where item tooltip comparison always required Ctrl+Alt to see affix ranges, regardless if you had auto-compare enabled. It once again only requires Alt with auto-compare enabled

Have you tried leveling with the masochist mode boots yet? You can get them right at the start and it makes everything way harder.

If you know of a dupe method, please report it through the private channels we have set up for that.

If you are suspecting a dupe from someone else, please do not say dupes exist unless you are certain you know.

I haven’t seen any evidence of dupes recently. We take them extremely seriously.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where ability buffering was not working online
  • Fixed a bug where Bone Curse with Illusion of Pain would not fall off after 1 hit if the hit came from Chaos Bolts with Cursed Blood
  • Fixed some instances of infinite loading screens when playing in a party

This wasn’t an intentional change. In order to fix some of the tooltip bugs, we had to basically re-create item tooltips from the ground up, and this functionality was missed. The team is aware, and are already working on it. We’re also discussing other options in regards to this, such as an “always show ranges” option.

Hello Travelers,

We’re providing notice today for an upcoming bugfix regarding an interaction with Chaos Bolts being able to refresh Bone Curse with the “Illusion of Pain” node allocated.

Illusion of Pain causes Bone Curse to always crit, and deal 150% more damage, with the limitation of only lasting for one hit. Chaos Bolts has the ability to refresh curses with the “Cursed Blood” node, however as the Bone Curse only lasts one hit, once the hit occurs there shouldn’t be a Bone Curse to refresh.

We are currently planning to release this bug fix next week.

Yes, we’ll need to fix this interaction as well for both consistency, and to prevent negative mana shenaniganry. We are however still looking at Shaman for improvements to the class as a whole, so these kinds of unintended bugs don’t feel necessary for the class/ability to have strength.

If you die in HC, yes, you lose access to your HC stash, gold, and materials as you inherit those things from the Standard version of that game mode. This above mentioned resolved bug caused the deletion of the Standard game mode stash when a Hardcore Character died.

Hello Travelers,

We’re once again providing notice regarding an upcoming bugfix which can effect build balance; this time in relation to the Grim Harvest effect from the unique weapon Death’s Embrace. It has been found that Grim Harvest could occur at negative mana, allowing you to push your mana into endlessly deeper negative values. Effects which consume mana are not intended to occur while at negative mana. Skills or abilities which cost mana should not be able to be used or triggered while at negative mana, as you cannot afford their stated cost.

  • Fixed a bug where Grim Harvest from the Death’s Embrace Unique Item could be consumed while at negative mana

We are currently aiming to have this fix included with next week’s weekly patch.

Hello Travelers,

We wanted to let everyone know that we will be pushing this week’s patch to combine into a larger patch next week. While we have heard your feedback that Falconer needs to be brought down in power, we don’t believe dying anytime you use a Falcon ability with the Gathering Fury Bow equipped is the right way to do it.

Just a couple minor bugs with the patch to work out, as the Falconer wasn’t planned to receive any changes.
