Someone from production tell Phreak he's got the tag still stuck under the armpit of his suit jacket lol
It was the perfect set up for a wombo combo

So good :) fantastic work
Casters acting like BDS was playing some amazing game there. Like nah, BDS was playing like absolute garbage aside from Nuclearint, but XL was playing like an actual dumpster fire rolling down a cliff. Both teams swirling down a bottomless toilet of bad decision making.
I mentioned this in another comment, but this type of game is actually super freaking hard to cast because ideally I wanna focus on the rammifications for XL because their story continues with playoff chances, but then focusing on XL at the expense of BDS isn't appropriate either. If we only focused on the problems and negatives it doesn't create an environment thats enjoyable to watch, so I for sure opted to 'celebrate' this positive moment for BDS and I recall saying several times late game, that this wasn't a good game and that XL are really struggling.
We could have for sure been more critical, but I don't think the viewing experience would have been improved and I didn't wanna disregard a surprise positive step for BDS.
Oh I am 100% sure it was intentional banter lol
And it 100 % was, Neon loves to be sarcastic, we actually chatted about it just before we went live
That was such a hard game to cast, the XL loss carries more implications but you can't focus on that while BDS are winning, couple that with two fairly poor performances and omg that was hard!
"Ahri taunt lands." Ahri doesn't ave a taunt.
For f**ks sake if you are casting a pro game at least learn what abilities do.
That whole game the taunt line was grating beyond anything, you are not bronze, you are casting for tens of thousands of people there is no reason to make a mistake that bronze doesnt make.
Yeah sorry, not sure why that word was in my head. Will for sure not make the same mistake next time!
Again no shot of the production room with nice people waving at us? :(
Give me my behind the scenes people back!
Lots of love though!
Waving still! But not showing it for now, as we’ve needed to repurpose the line previously used for that camera for something else, temporarily.
Hey man, any more updates on this topic? Seems like for LEC the feature is still disabled which makes it practically impossible to catch up with vods within a reasonable timeframe and spoilerfree.
Hey there, I work on the LCS team and don't have context from LEC on their VODs to give any insight, but I'll forward this feedback to them.
2 years for this? I mean it for sure looks good and better than his old model and animations, but 2 WHOLE years?? For the company with the biggest online game in the world, I feel this should've taken a lot less than 2 years, even with taking covid into account.
Edit: I mean, they release 4-5 new champs in a year. Even in 2020 when covid hit, they released 6 new champions just that year. This champ already had his lore, his abilities, an idea for his kit, etc. All they had to do was touch up the animations and looks and tweak his abilities into something more modern, that seems like even less work than creating an entirely new champion.
Actually we also have to re-make all the Champion skins when we do a VGU. And Udyr also had a Ultimate skin. Ultimate skins take as long to make as a Champion. We actually finished base Udyr quite awhile ago and have been doing skin production for along time now
riot's sworn off from aatroxing champs with reworks, just looking at the last few (pantheon, fiddlesticks, volibear) is a clear sign of that because they still feel very similar even if they play differently. I personally think its a good thing but it also doesn't give me hope for some kits that need desperate overhauls.
We arnt sworn off from it. We just only do it when the champion needs it. We don’t want to do change for the sake of change. Skarner will be a VGU on the level of Urgot/Sion/Galio
Its udyr time yo
Now we just need a 2022 Summer foldy sheet. Can't be that hard with 5 gamedays left... /s
I can't remember how many million outcomes there are, but I think it's like 16million right now, and obviously drops every single day. Usually we get foldy sheet at week 8!
One could say, every game counts.
Udyr?!!?!?!??!!!!???!?!?!!!!!!
He's chillin
Hey Reav3, is this roadmap still planned to be released sometime around mid August, or has it been pushed back?
Yeah, should be sometime next week I believe
In the article it claims CLG has one of the hardest remaining schedules but that definitely isn’t true. They play TSM and IMT in the last week.
Oh wow. Sorry about that :( Looks like I read the schedule wrong, they should be 2x Red, 1x yellow 2x Green which makes it a very average schedule in the next 5
Fortiche are just goated. Everything they touch is absolute fire. The RISE worlds video, Get Jinxed, KDA popstars, etc. They went above and beyond with Arcane, the art style is refreshing and straight up gorgeous.
All hail Fortiche
Oh, im talking about the newer champ models compared to the older ones. Sorry if my question was unclear 😭
Ahh, if newer champions / skins are built with newer techniques?
If so, then absolutely yes. There's fairly extensive differences in tech between older champs/skins and new champs/skins. As an example, old ultimate skins would push an entirely new character to replace the older character to get large transformations (e.g. DJ Sona transforms). And given how isolated these characters were, they couldn't share a lot of resources. Whereas newer skins now have a "gear" system that lets them more easily target updated parts of a skin and swapping out sections of their VFx resolvers, meaning we could do things like that now both much more easily... and with less impact on total memory cost. But unfortunately, older skins were just not build that way (due to the tech not existing).
Oh, this is really interesting. Can i ask if the way the models of the characters and skins are updated as well compared to early league?
Generally no. Minor fixes are done, but exhaustive fixes tend to only occur when there's a VU.
