Hey folks a bit late in responding to this but thanks for the reports about issues with mission rewards. It's something we've been looking into the last couple days. No fix yet, but we're comparing issues on PBE and some tests internally, since this is something we want to make sure is fixed before we take 11.16 to Live servers.

From our findings so far we aren't finding any evidence that rewards aren't being issued at all, just that in many cases they're very slow. 10+ minutes seems common, and an hour+ is less frequent but definitely there.

Um ackshually he doesn't predict the Flash Taunt.

He Flashed because he was going to get hit by the normal taunt. He was well within range of the taunt-flash before he ever flashed away.

He did predict the taunt. You saw him run backwards early. But he was gonna get hit my the flash if Shen wanted to spend it proactively.

Edit: and if we're being nit-picky, he whiffs his first auto after the knockup. He Qs too early.

It's something I've never understood about LCS/LEC, there is just so much content with casters and almost none with the players. People want to see the players talk about League, not the casters

It always comes down to willingness and availability. While both the LEC and LCS have some content requirements, the vast majority of content requires that both the pro and the team want to do it, and that it fits into an already busy schedule. I think a lot of fans might just assume that LEC and LCS have access to whomever they want, whenever they want, and that's just not the case.

Reading back on it, on one hand it could be "super formally written with no emotionally loaded language in it at all"...but this isn't even close to the type of regular "feedback" we see in this community. And some of the "harsh" language is how I actually feel, and how I actually interpret a lot of things when it comes to Riot's handling of Sona (let alone other enchanter champions besides her, but that's probably for other days), the Sona community's shifty stance(s) on her, and the time line of where we were and how we got here.

I didn't make this post just to rail on one side or the other. I made this post because this project just reeks of the last one: There's enough interest to try, but not enough to try enough. You don't have to rip the whole champ apart and put in something brand new, per say (Wouldn't keep me up at night, personally. Worked WONDERS for Poppy and I love her), but like...this approach is too reserved. Perhaps I don't have to necess...

No hard feelings friend, appreciate the response. Agree that this post isnt nearly as bad as a lot of others and I understand since its coming from passion. Just wanted to offer some genuine advice to help your thoughts stand out more! I’ll make sure the post gets seen but I wouldn’t expect much in the way of changes since these are so far along

I'm gonna respond to each one of his points

We care about how players are responding to the changes, and we've seen a fair amount of sentiment that this is a nerf.

Yeah, like at least 90% of Sona players and with good reasons, one of the many is that you're Riot JAG, and you have an atrocious historial with Kai'Sa (How many nerfs had she received the last 40 months?), Camille, "Aatrox", The preS11 tank items, and a Star guardian who enslaves sould and the story acts like she's a good girl.

From my perspective, I suspect that some people are undervaluing some of the specifics.

That's usually the case if you ask me. I don't think this is a nerf BUT it's definitively going in the wrong direction by keeping that haste and enforcing it while most Sona complain about the champion having their habilities feel not impactful enough.

We've seen a lot of playtests where ...

jag is not the designer working on sona. i am

design work is also fairly collaborative. the designer owning a project get opinions from everyone and then that designer makes a call.

im aware of the shield issue with W and looking into fixing it

The ult cdr reduction changed to the stacking mechanic alone is a huge buff. It is only a nerf at lvl16 which you will reach about 25-30% of the time on average(this is an estimate based on my own games). Being rewarded for using your spells well will be a lot more satisfying then having to leach every bit of xp.

Sona gets to level 16 in less than 10% of games

Just a piece of feedback from someone who writes, reads, and receives a lot of feedback in their career. We read reddit, we go through a lot of the fanbases feedback, and we often use it to inform our decisions. A great way to get your feedback read and considered is to work it in a respectful, non-hyperbolic way. Just present your information in a factual and informative manner. The more hyperboles and exaggerative (and frankly, rude) language you use the harder it is to actual parse your opinion and analysis on things.

Anything not specifically intended to buff only his solo lane power might push him into broken territory.

We want him out of support jail and into top jail

just curious, would different amounts of tokens for a win/loss be possible with this sort of hotfix?

Tokens, or sentinels points?

That sounds like an extremely weird technical limitation, can you share something about how it happened?

We export mission configuration into a text file of sorts, which is uploaded to servers all around the world weeks before the event starts. Trouble is, altering those missions once in progress is extremely risky. Could wipe all progress, stop the mission working or... a bunch of other technical server issues I don't understand!

As such, altering the 100s of Sentinel missions to adjust for such a progress miscalculation was considered far too dangerous. The 600 points mission is literally the only safe way we could alter the player's progression rate. Anything more complex and we'd start risking server overload with the data processing.

Technical limitation, sadly. We started with this idea.
