I honestly just didn't get the reference, I'm awful with names of actors and didn't put 2 and 2 together lol.

Hey OP, I wanted to say that you did a great job with this! The visualization is super clean and easy to read and the questions you asked were on point. I'm an analyst on our Player Dynamics team and have a survey out right now that has a number of parallels to yours. Great work!

Well, I've noticed them now and I didn't during the first two weeks (and, when you look at my reward tab you know I've watched a lot of league this season).

So it's for full item and lvl 6 11 and 16 ? It's great and catched my eyes ! Good job !

Happy to hear that. And yeah they are for lvl 6, 11, 16 and full item completions (not including boots)

We had them for the first two weeks, but it was really hard to notice them so we made them more noticeable (mainly larger)

Really pretty infographics, but it's worth mentioning again: this is a survey of League subreddits, not League players in general.

This is clearly stated by the OP so I'm not crying foul or anything, but just take all data presented here to be a breakdown of "League players on Reddit".

Seems like a way for Riot to "keep their promise" of giving annual refunds but hope much of the playerbase doesn't know about the request process and miss it.

Riot is working on a stable long term solution that automatically grants tokens in client but it is not ready yet. My team built this as an interim stop gap for players who wanted it now.

Thanks for putting this together, Celianna! If you enjoy doing this kind of thing, I'd totally recommend you get some stat classes and research under your belt. Imagine all the cool things you can show us when you can do correlations! Moderating effects! MULTILEVEL MODELS!

Sincerely, a researcher who gets very nerdy about her work <3

Sorry if this is spammy. We are autogranting refund tokens but it might take some time since the team is working on a long term solution. We (player support engineering) saw that players were banking on it so we found a way to help them in the short term.

In fact most of the custom game modes that differ dramatically from SR (Nexus Blitz, Odyssey, Star Guardian) are using a similar strategy. The most obvious evidence is that they run the same executable.

In this engineering blog, they've stated that League is about half scripts (animations, interactions, champion skills, stat management, menu functionality) and half C++ (shaders, models, sprites, particle effects). Swap out the scripts, keep the same engine, and you can launch new game modes pretty quickly (maybe two or three times a year, like their current schedule).

The engineering feat I'm interested to see is how they got the C++ engine to run on non-x86 platforms, I'd love to see a dev blog written about what compilat...

I'll forward this recommendation over to Aryeila, who owns tech blog. I forget what's in her pipeline currently.

This is SO cool!!! I love both of them. :D Aurelion is one of my absolute favorite champs. The colors are soooo good.

Or imma have to hide from the shame on twitter, an objectively garbage platform

(Plz excuse the copy pasta)

Yes they are planned to be automated! Riot is working on a permanent solution that automatically grants in-client to everyone (but I can't speak to timing though as I'm not on that team.) My team and I (PS website engineering team) saw the thread by u/Jaibamon that players were banking on getting it asap so my team built a stop-gap solution for them and decided to allow anyone who wanted a refund token now to use it.

Thank you, means the world coming from you guys at Riot!

We're excited for you to give Nemo a go, and please do come back with any feedback or insights you might have.

Nemo right now aims to be a proprietary utility and at this stage in early Beta we've got a ton of work left both with the simpler features (expanding, fixing, upgrading) and more advanced ones, like Nemo AI.

When it comes to Nemo AI we've been held back a bit by the limited amount of data, we're really in need of more data to make more progress towards our goals with the AI and Machine Learning components.

We've only entered the Beta a few months ago and as soon as we get a bigger data allowance from the API team :), we'll be able to push the AI components much much further.

Thanks for the reply! I'll definitely get back with some feedback.
