So I have high ping (120+) to my normal servers and data centers in R6S when around 4-6 days ago I had under 20 at all times, like my friends currently still do. I have locked my data center to Eau, because i live in Australia and used to have good ping to that server, but now I have 120 or above, where my friends, whom also live in Australia still get normal ping, like I used to get.

This problem is exclusively in this game too, I play Player Unknown's Battlegrounds and get normal ping, Overwatch is normal, Hearoes of the Storm is normal. Every game is fine but this game, so it's not an internet problem, plus I've also re-downloaded the whole game, and verified the integrity of it, and that didn't help. So does anyone know how to fix this? I've submitted tickets for the problem too a few days ago and have gotten nothing out of them, so please help me here.

@MasterOogwayKFP, If your internet is affected at certain times throughout the day, I would suggest contacting your ISP for more information, as there could be a throttle on your connection.

Hi guys! If you've already done these troubleshooting steps, please submit a ticket with a screenshot of your forwarded ports and your Internet Service Provider's name. We can investigate this once we have this information available!

Hey H0TSh0T__! Can you take screenshots of your Port Forwarding and send them in a new support case? Let me know the case number once it's submitted.

I play other five games and the ping is fine (below 38ms). When playing siege, I was used to get around 46ms. Now I can't get anything lower than 160ms. Created a ticket [08086978] to no avail.
It seems I will have to give up playing this game.
Hi Jebudo! I am sorry to hear about you having a high ping. We cannot say for sure that the hop in that tracert is the cause (8/9) as we do not know if the data for the game would be sent to our servers in the same way. We also do not have influence over how the packets flow or visibility on what is happening in those hops. Also do not worry about "Request timed out." at the end of the tracert as this is normal for some devices not to respond to traces. If you see "Request timed out." often in the middle of the trace like in your image, this means the connection is unstable at that point and could indicate an issue with your ISP. The steps below would also be able to help try bypass this unstable part.

I would recommend two things. Firstly, try manually changing the Datacentre to a different location for testing purposes to see if you get a better connection there.

Also it looks like you have double NAT before you get to the internet, it might be worth trying to connect directly to your first router (10.15.0.1) for testing as well.

Thanks!

Hello, very unusual indeed.

We've not made any changes on our side recently, so it's difficult to explain why this could be happening.

Since this issue has only just started, it may be easier to narrow down. Have you tried simply restarting your router?

We have a connectivity support article that should help you: https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/faqs/000023138/

It may be a temporary network issue which will resolve itself shortly.

Hey alpha_.! My apologies for these sudden ping problems you've noticed in Rainbow Six Siege. Please try verifying the game's files in Steam to see if that makes any difference. If it doesn't, can you please let me know if you're receiving any specific error codes or messages?

Sorry to hear your ping as risen on all servers. To ensure the best possible connection to our servers please see our connectivity troubleshooting.

If you still have issues after all of the steps, could you confirm if there has been any changes to your network or ISP that you are aware of?

Thanks!

Hi there, sorry you are experiencing these connection issue while playing your game. So we can look to getting this resolved could we first ask that you have attempted our connectivity troubleshooting steps as outlined here.

If you have any problems completing these steps or still experience these connection issues, please feel free to contact us with further details of your network settings and an image showing these steps completer as advised at the bottom of the above FAQ.

Hi there, thanks for getting in contact and thanks for your query.

To confirm, a players "ping" is generally based on their location in comparison to the game servers themselves. As such, playing games with a friend in another region will often cause one of you to experience higher ping as you are describing.

While i will certainly forward your feedback for further review, there isn't really a workaround to improve your ping while playing on a different regional server.

You may however wish to work through our connectivity troubleshooting to improve your basic connections performance, you can also find further details regarding ping in our developer blog post.

In the meantime, if you would like further information or have any further queries, please feel free to let us know.

Hey bubbie..!

Thanks for getting in touch and I am sorry to hear about this.

First and foremost, in order to resolve the issue, I'd recommend you to try completing steps outlined in the following article, as it will allow you to establish better connection to the game servers, since the reason you are having this issue is possibly due to some limitations when connecting.

Additionally, as Ubi-Orion suggested in the post just above, you may want to try to see which datacenter (server) are you being connected to and make sure you choose the one that is in your region or provides you with the best connection.

Keep us updated and should you have any questions in the meantime, let us know!
