That exceptions log shows the crash is in your AMD video driver. So the issue may be there or in that card, not the game.

Check you have the very latest

Well, we know the launcher still has problems under MacOS before 12.x, yes. It's not on all installations like that, the launcher devs have been unable to reproduce in under MacOS 10 or 11..

That said, that evinces as a JavaScript error that specifically mentions MacOS12, not the electron error you see there.

Delete that empty systems.log file , does the game make a new one that is populated this time?

If so does that help the issue?

Also, you may as well update that nVidia driver to this month's one https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Hmmm, that triggers something I've seen in other games. What if instead of loading the autosave from within the game, you go back to the main menu to do it? Or even exit the game entirely the run it again?

I'm wondering if there's a problem with clearing out game memory.

The game's developers can do nothing about a problem in a Windows user profile, which is the OP's issue here.

I think your Windows is out of date. Run the Updater app, does it find anything to do? If so apply that and reboot.

Then update that nVidia driver to May 2023 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

If those don't help, Right click on eu4.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Edit that settings.txt as follows:

This forum is called Tech Support. It has a sister forum called Bug Reports. Do you see that above?

If so, I'm suggesting you make a ne wthread in there to report this as an apparent bug.

That's part of Windows FYI, nothing to do with us or this game. You may have a Windows problem causing that.

But you are only getting this problem with one particular galaxy, is that right? Others load okay, you can start a new one okay?

If so was that galaxy started under the current patch, or some previous one?

New DLCs cannot work with older patches. You have probably opted into 3.5.4 in the Steam Betas tab for this game; if so opt out of all betas there and you'll be on the latest patch and the DLCs should work.

The other possibility is if you are running our launcher in standalone (non-Steam) mode. This game is no longer supported on that platform and no new patches or DLCs are available there. You'll need to run it from Steam instead.

This is just with one or some existing saves, are you saying? If you start a new test campaign it is okay?

It will probably be calculations rather than saving triggering this.

But you are saying it only happens with Ironman? Because the above ought to be basically the same either way.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

Marcquez said: How can I disable these DLC?
Not seeing any toggle for this in the settings or mod section (which is empty).
That would normally mean you have no DLCs. Do you in fact own any? Do you see them in the game when you run it in the working profile??

If you have none then of course they cannot be causing your problem.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

IF that doesn't help:

I see, I guess it must be a bug then. Please add to the referenced bug reports thread. Thanks!

Seems unlikely, but you can run a Steam Verify operation to check that.

If this is reliably replicable from that save file, please make a new post in Bug Reports and attach the save there for QA to look into.

Sorry for that problem!

If you disable that DLC in our launcher, does the problem remain or go away?

We can't help with modded games here at all I'm afraid. Please post the problem save in User Mods.

Can you play an unmodded campaign okay?
