Does that prevent the DLCs from loading? If so, you could see if those are what's doing it by disabling them all in Steam then run the game from Steam.

You have two separate crashes showing in that dxdiag.

One is in VCRUNTIME140.dll which means it is bad or not up to date. Run this Windows repair tool:

If there are no mods involved, that campaign was started under the current game patch 1.9.0.4 , and you have a save game file that show sthe crash reliably, please make a new thread in Bug Reports here for QA to look into, and attach that save there.

Sorry for that problem!

The other thread on this issue now finds the same thing - it works with one profile but not another. For them it happened immediately after a game crash, perhaps that corrupted the profile in some way.

We have no way of fixing profiles I'm afraid! Is that something you can take up with Windows or Xbox account support?

I'm sure you are right, this is looks like an Xbox profile issue, which of course we have no insight into or control over. Perhaps that crash did something to it!

Can you connect Windows or Xbox account support on that?

Pretty clearly the issue is in the graphics area:
[20:26:13][gfx_dx11_pixelbuffer.cpp:177]: CreateTexture2D failed on: R8G8B8A8_UNORM/253x293
[20:26:13][gfx_dx11_pixelbuffer.cpp:178]: D3D error: hr returned: Not enough memory resources are available to complete this operation.
And equally obviously your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti should not be running out of Vram.

You've capped the framerate at 144, does setting that to 60 make any difference?

What if you make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that - does it still happen (or rather not happen)?

So this is her Xbox account but your copy of this game attached to your account, in some way? Sorry, I'm not really across how Xbox accounts work in that respect!

If you run ck3.exe directly from File Explorer, do you see any error when it crashes then?

Try this Windows repair tool

When you say new hardware, this is on a completely new machine, is that right? Or you just updated/changed some hardware in the existing machine?

Can you run ck3.exe directly from File Explorer, if so what happens exactly? Any error show?

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file ... Read more

The bug being a failure of the game to check that space and warn you? And/or give you an option to overwrite perhaps?

If so, yes, I guess so!

But it's not Steam doing it, it's this game. Is stellaris.exe also exempted there?

Do any of your players have an ASUS computer? If so, it is possibly this is due to an MP 'helper' app from them that can cause this to our games. We don't mention that app's name here, for obvious reasons.

That's one of several lgs in that folder, yes. It shows no issue as such.

If you make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that, do you get the same problem there?

Can everyone who experiences this, when NO mods are in use, please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach the MP and other logs there, for QA to look into. Thanks!

Karbuziran said: So, that means all the DLCs are de-/activated from within the Steam-Client and no Launcher is necessary anymore for "Surviving Mars" to regulate anything for the Game?
Because I remember in 2019 after I had purchased the Game (when I had tried it out @ PDXCON2019), there definitely was a Launcher for it - which was a little "wobbly" in Linux, but it was present and worked more or less - even in Manjaro Linux.

This game never had a launcher of any sort. It always went from Steam straight into the game. I frankly have no idea what you are t... Read more
