The clan UI changes to me (as a Software Engineer with 9yrs exp :) ) seems like a relatively easy task to complete within a few weeks? Would be good to get a small update just with this to see small frequent progression.

that is still the plan... it hasn't changed. this means less 1 update every 9 months and more 1 update every 3 months.

for example, releasing an update that only includes UI changes would not be worth the development time that it takes to create the update version and launch the app on all stores.

Working in IT as a 10+ years product owner / product manager I have problems understanding:

  • You haven't told us what the next month/update will bring. Or at least when you give that info.
  • Provide us with a ranking of the main current issues. What will be fixed first? What has less priority? Working with scrum should allow the team to have a backlog with the highest prioritys ready by now.
  • These backlog items should give some indication when you can and will fix. Won't hassle on this point, but I do like to see your priority list.

So can you at least explain the first 2 bullits?

just because we have the plans/roadmap internally doesn't mean we need to reveal them publicly. there seems to be an incorrect expectation that we should be public with everything just because we have it organised internally.

as a product manager of 10 years you can understand that plans change and that sharing a daily update of everything to a large pubic audience is not the best for setting expectations!

as an example that doesn't use clash royale, i've been excited for the PS5 release for a long time and although I am sure they have known all of the details for a year now, i was not expecting them to release anything until they were ready to (which they now have - less than 2 months before launch of their physical product which has been in development for X amount of years).

EDIT: people are taking the example of a ps5 above and using it as a direct comparison to clash royale. the example doesn't matter, it can be anything, a mobile game, a co...

i can't put a timeline on when i will be able to give more info, sorry.

when there is info to share rest assured i will share it!

i posted this a few hours before you made this post, but got it got buried so you may not have seen it:

"the post i made here outlines what we are hoping to address in the next update.

when i have more info that i can share, i will make an announcement. i don't have anything more than that to add at the moment"

hope that answers your question ...

I think the big one everyone wants answered is if yall are going to do something soon. I'm not sure my clan (that has been around for 4 years, spent most of it t200 trophies in NA, around 9k legendary points in CW1) will last another month. I've had to replace more people since cw2 started than in the 8 months prior. I am sure yall are trying to find the larger tweaks to make cw2 a mode everyone loves, but that could take a while. Is anything going to happen before another 100 clans dissolve?

nearly all of these are loaded questions and therefore to me do not seem to be in good faith.

i'm happy to answer large amounts of questions if they are more neutral and in an a AMA setting so that more people can see 👍

this is so awesome!

do you have an IG or something i could check out?

very cool, thank you for sharing! this idea of a clan shop is actually something that we wanted to expand upon, with some sort of Clan Coin currency but we moved away from it.

i would love to revisit it and instead have a brand new shop for skins and cosmetic profile content etc. at least for me personally, that would be a great long term goal to get into the game, like the CWL rewards in CoC if you've played that.

but either way nice prototype idea u/MrdMehrdad14!

Huge thanks Drew for the feedback, I think we all though that emotes from offers enter the shop cycle after these 3/4 months of exclusiveness. I think is a little bit confusing if these (Halloween ones for example, or maybe others too) come back after a whole year. Anyway, thanks again!

good feedback, i agree that the messaging can be confusing. thanks

bride of frankenstein goblin will be back for halloween! alongside the other halloween emotes

miner w/ red envelope came back for season 11 but is not currently available in the daily shop

My suggestions for a better Clan War II

Hello! I've been playing Clash Royale for 4 years. I love this game and would like to see it evolve towards the direction that more and more will enjoy the game. Here are my two cents for a better Clan War II.

1) add the option to take part in clan war or not, similar to the same button in Clash of clan. So that casual players can survive. War matching is done based on number of players, so that big clan and small clan can find their comfortable position. Bonus attacks are arranged for clan with fewer player so that equal attacks for every clan. This is basically the same matching in Clan War I which worked well in my opinion.

People should used their four normal attacks before use bonus one. The deck can be chosen from any one of their four decks.

If you want to make some change, put it this way: bonus attacks are not assigned to certain players, but is available for all the players in a first come first ser...

Dear Drew,

You talked about small clans.

But the main issue is not the size of the clans. The problem concerns casual clans.

In a casual clan with 50 players, only 20 or 30 of them play in the war.

It is not possible to ask casual players to do 4 attacks per day, each day of the week. Before cw2 they used to participate to a war once per week or per month.

Before this update, as a clan leader I had to convince 10/15 players (who had chosen to play the war) to do 4 attacks in 2 days. Now, I have to convince 50 players to do 4 attacks per day 7/7. This is not possible. It generates a lot of tension in the clans.

Currently, the only solution for clans is to kick casual players. I think it is not a good thing for Clash Royale to lose all casual players. I like to play with them and I hope it will still possible in the future.

To participate or not to participate to a war must be a choice.

The clans must compete agains...

hey, thanks for this feedback.

this is also something that we are hoping to address with the 'small clan' changes. basically making participation more viable for anyone (to a certain extent, not 1 person clans etc).

OK, that's a step in the right direction.

Regarding the second picture you posted. Is there a reason to display fame and repair points separately? I get the difference between them, and that it may be confusing when the sum doesn't add up to 50k, but I think it's taking up valuable space. Maybe a better metric to display would be to show how much fame the player could fight for, and how much he managed to get. Like lost one match out of four, each for 208, then show: 728/832.

the current issue is that the ordering isn't right, it only takes into account fame. we're looking to change this so that it takes both of them together when making the leaderboard.

(or we could put them into one number, sure, we aren't settled on anything yet)

This sounds really good, but I worry that this will take way too long. And once we have these fixes the community asked for, it will also take a lot of time to develop a new gameplay update.

we are definitely planning on adding some new stuff alongside this change.

but its also crucial that we fix this update first. i don't think it is wise for us to just move onto the next 'wow big new feature!' without sorting the issues with this one.
