As it stands, I can confirm that this issue has been addressed with Patch 14.2, however do mind that saves that already have the issue cannot be fixed, therefore you will have to restart the scenario.

We've had no update on this since what @Ubi-TheBerry already stated above, therefore so that we could forward the details over to our team, for reproduction purposes, is there any possibility you could also share your save file with us (where issue is present)? By default, it should be located in %userprofile%\Documents\Anno 1800\accounts. Once found, if you can upload it to any file sharing website and then share the link with us in this thread.

I take it that you are having the exact same issue, therefore if this is the case indeed, can I check if you've tried setting the file to 'Read-Only'? Also, I take it that it can be either of the two, therefore if this is the case indeed, does restarting the game help? Finally, do you happen to be using VPN by any chance?

Based on what you've stated, I understand that the game must have been concluded by the time you tried to reconnect as you should still be able to do so if match was on-going.

Additionally, if you do live in the area where internet connection can be unstable at times, then you may want to see whether there's a way to tackle this or possibly have a back-up connection (such as Mobile Hotspot set through Mobile Data) that you could fall back onto, in case if this occurs again, as disconnections on multiple instances will result in abandonment penalty for a pro-longed period of time and it wouldn't be something our Support team could over...

As it stands, I can confirm that our system will always try to connect you to the best data center it can find at that particular moment of booting the game up. Should this not be your usual data center please try rebooting the game, however if you are being connected to the same one, then do mind that it's due to better connectivity to the game server which is closer.
