Honestly, metal is the closer equivalent with respect to purpose. 2.0 only had wooden, stone, greenhouse, and dock structures.

At some point, we'd like to add more building materials and shapes. But that's not in the immediate future.

You're not insane -- it's a more recent change. I believe we changed it in May, when we introduced some new map editor tools/changes.

The old brown materials had been critiqued for a while.

Yeah, I thought so. Unfortunately, Steam doesn't offer an easy way to view all deleted posts of a user. It's hard to go back and verify the extent of something like mass spam.

But, I'll just assume that it wasn't anything worse than a handful of copypastas. A permanent ban was probably excessive -- or at the very least, 3 years is probably more than sufficient. I'll unban you here in a few minutes, just don't go around spamming random stuff.

Taking a brief look into the moderation history of what looks to be your Steam account, it looks like you were permanently banned in 2019 by a now-retired moderator after you had spammed maybe a dozen or so copypastas onto Steam Workshop mods.

Could you provide a link to your Steam profile, or provide your SteamID, so that I can verify I'm looking at the correct account?

Create a mod that adds that content (or preexisting spawn tables with that content) to the spawn tables of the map you intend to play on.

The answer is no. Curated content is not official content. You cannot obtain curated content on official maps without downloading/creating an additional mod to do so.

A good starting point is to always start with the official documentation linked to from in-game. https://github.com/SmartlyDressedGames/U3-Docs

For official maps, mechanic's shops and similar locations (gas stations, garages...).

The Maelstrom is not a vanilla vehicle. If you're trying to spawn custom, community-made modded content, then you need that modded content downloaded both client-side and on the server in order to use it.

Planar Reflection Quality isn't relevant unless your Water Quality is set to Ultra.

If your Water Quality isn't set to Ultra, you're not making use of that graphical setting. Thus, it's grayed out.

Hosting U4 servers has a few similarities with the method for hosting U3 servers. Refer to official documentation: https://github.com/SmartlyDressedGames/U4-Docs

If you've ever used the devkit editor to create/edit maps, these tools should look very familiar. They're essentially a more streamlined version of the devkit tools.

Regardless, you should start here: https://blog.smartlydressedgames.com/terrain-editor-changes-faq/
