Firstly, please use the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ option via the Steam client:

1. Right-click Vermintide 2 in your Steam library sidebar
2. Select ‘Properties’
3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
4. Select the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ button
5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

It’s fun to create bad guys, and the Moebian Sixth are bad to the bone.

To me, in games just like novels, the bad guys have got to be interesting, not just cannon fodder, and that’s hard to pull off in a game because there are going to be a lot of them coming at you as you dig in and play, and some of them will be cut down quickly (if you’re doing your job right!).

It’s pretty much impossible to build them as characters, or establish any depth of personality, because there isn’t the space or the time, and you’re not going to have the sort of interaction with them you’d get in a novel or a piece of prose. You might get to learn about a bad guy’s motivation or impulses in a book, but in a game like this, they’re just going to loom at you out of the dark and try to kill you.

It sounds like your user_settings.config is either becoming corrupted or has the incorrect privileges. Please ensure your user_settings.config is not set to ‘Read Only’ by:

1. Press the Windows key + R
2. Enter %appdata% and select ‘OK’
3. Navigate to \AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2
4. Right-click ‘user_settings.config’
5. Select ‘Properties’
6. Ensure the ‘General’ tab is selected
7. Ensure the ‘Read Only’ checkbox is not checked

What you’re both experiencing is the same as this:

There was a fair bit of rejiggling stuff behind the scenes, moving categories, assigning new parent categories, clearing old archives (etc etc etc) and in the madness of that this was published to an invisible category.

Yep, this is kind of fixed now. Just don’t look too closely. :)))

Was this just treated as a bug fix, or was the overall balance actually considered in this fix?

This is a bugfix.

I believe there will be another fix coming soon, I just need to see when and what it contains.

We’re aware of memory crashes, which we’ve alerted the console team internally about.

To add to Jacob’s comment above, did you earn those cosmetics/Okri’s Challenges whilst in ‘Offline’ mode, and are you experiencing this issue on ‘Offline’ mode specifically?

We hear you and are always monitoring the situation with performance - optimisation is a continual process.

Sorry to hear this. Does this occur before the launcher appears, or after pressing ‘Play’ in the launcher?

We believe there may be some sort of regional lock in place for our Russian players. This hasn’t been communicated to us, so we’re investigating.
