CLASSES

• DEATH KNIGHT
  • Hero Talents
    • Rider of the Apocalypse (Frost/Unholy)
      • A Feast of Souls no longer has a chance to refund a rune.
      • Damage from Runic Power abilities is increased by 30% while 2 or more Horsemen are active (was 20%).
    • San’layn (Unholy/Blood)
      • The Blood is Life accumulator deals reduced damage beyond 8 targets.
      • The Blood is Life accumulator can no longer critically strike.
      • Corrupted Blood ability of the Blood Beast deals reduced damage beyond 8 targets.
      • Essence of the Blood Queen’s Haste granted per stack reduced to 1% (was 1.5%).
      • Vampiric Strike now heals for 1%/2% of your maximum health for Blood/Unholy (was 3%/5%).
      • Vampiric Strike damage reduced by 15%.

We’re aware of issues with the new Skyfury raid buff, and we expect to address it with hotfixes to the Beta tomorrow.

Earlier today, we unfortunately deployed a small part of our Shaman update to the Beta. This may have put the class into a bad state for testing, but that will only be the case for the next day or so. We have significant updates to the Shaman talent trees coming in tomorrow’s new Beta build.

First, we’d like to outline our philosophy and goals for these changes. We’ll start by addressing the new Shaman raid buff: Skyfury, and then go over each of the tree updates individually.

Hello Survival Hunters!

We’ve been reading your feedback regarding the recent changes to Mongoose Bite, Mongoose Fury, and Flanking Strike and want to provide an update regarding those changes.

One of our goals with the Survival Hunter spec tree update was to better define niches for each of Survival’s tandem pet-and-hunter attack abilities. Since then, we’ve made changes to Coordinated Assault and Spearhead to better define their use cases as well as the narrative sell of their effects, and last week we felt that it was Flanking Strike’s turn for an update.

We don’t feel that our previous iteration of Flanking Strike fits perfectly within Survival’s kit, but given your feedback, we also don’t think that it being an occasional replacement for Kill Command is a better direction. We plan on reverting Flanking Strike to its previous iteration, where it will remain a separate ability that doubly benefits from Tip of the Spear. We’ll put more thought into Flanking St...

With this week’s build, NPC Crafting Orders are now available for testing! To use the feature, travel to your nearest crafting bench and open the Crafting Order tab. Click the “NPC” tab, which may appear blank at first, and you should start seeing orders appear. If at first you don’t see any orders, please wait a moment and try again.

Hello! Here are this week’s changes to the War Within Pre-Expansion PTR:

CLASSES

• Developer’s note: In this week’s build, Avoidance and Leech rating on gear gives half as much percent value as before, and we’ve reduced the amount of these stats given by most talents. Both stats, Avoidance in particular, are extremely effective against the damage non-tank players face. By the end of an expansion, the amount of Avoidance appearing on gear reduces so much damage that acquiring pieces with it can feel required to do the hardest content, particularly extremely high Mythic+ keys. By reducing the amount of value given per rating, our goal is for pieces with those stats to remain valuable, but for the gap between players with and without them to be closer.
• Reduced the percentage granted by Avoidance and Leech rating by 50%.
• The following Leech and Avoidance effects have also been reduced:

    • Trickster (Subtlety/Outlaw)
      • Flawless Form buff duration increased to 12 seconds (was 6 seconds).
      • Unseen Blade damage increased by 36%.
      • Outlaw
        • Nimble Flurry now increases Blade Flurry damage by 15% (was 10%).
      • Subtlety
        • Nimble Flurry now deals 40% of listed abilities’ damage to nearby targets (was 15%).
        • Nimble Flurry now includes Echoing Reprimand, Goremaw’s Bite, and Unseen Blade in addition to currently listed abilities. Tooltip will reflect this change in a future update.
  • Assassination
    • All ability damage increased by 15%.
  • Outlaw
    • All ability damage increased...

Hello wielders of the elements!

Over the first few weeks of testing, we gathered a lot of feedback from you. Subsequently, we aligned that feedback with our design goals, and got to work.

We’ve been recently working through a package of updates for Shamans, and we can now confirm that we’ll have the majority of the changes implemented and ready for testing in the next Beta build, next week.

Before then, we intend to deploy some Beta tuning hotfixes for the class in the next couple of days. But please know that this tuning is not a part of the package coming next week.

  • +2 Xal’atath’s Bargain affixes appear on a weekly rotation.
  • +4 Fortified or Tyrannical is active, alternating on a
    weekly rotation.
  • +7 Challenger’s Peril is active on all keystones.
  • +10 Tyrannical or Fortified is active, alternating on a
    weekly rotation.
  • +10 Tyrannical and Fortified are active.
    • The one that was not active at +4 that week becomes active at +10.
