If they make it past your defenses just leave your base. Have a back up roof to run to, or just die a few times running around "spawning near bag" and your things will be fine, they target you, not your buildings or stuff. Unless you are doing a hardcore run, your stuff is more valuable than surviving. the xp penalties are nothing.

Horde nights are extremely risk free if you take a few easy precautions, Especially with how the zombies spawn and despawn.
A tower defense, traditionally and ultimately, is you protecting a 'sacred object' at one end of the screen from oncoming enemies using towers.

There is a chance for it to make a bag. I doubt you would have been able to collect it all though. The bags could also have been destroyed by the zeds or by other blocks collapsing on it.

This is kind of the point in the "tower defense" genre. Especially when you mix it with survival mechanics. I'm not sure why you would have expected more.

You can't eat zombie flesh though. You can eat Rotten flesh, Which indeed can be sourced from zombified animals- But it's not zombified flesh that is infected with the same virus that would make you yourself a zombie. The animals are infected with a mutated variant of the virus.

Skill atrophy is the only thing that makes LBD viable in Valheim. Without it everyone could simply AFK-grind the weapon skills to max and be done with them for the entire game.

What I had suggested is that instead of "marking" the last 2 or 3 volumes, the game marks one nearest volume if you haven't had contact for x minutes.

That would be more consistent than the current approach since it always works regardless of what the volume count of the POI is.

It's not option material because for zombies to be any threat at all they need to be capable of getting to the player - both out in the wild and in POI.

Digging down 3 blocks and putting a frame above your head can not provide 100% safety. That only makes the game look bad.

If you do not want any threat in the game then turn off enemies. That's exactly what the option is for.

players.xml references that to the ingame player name.

For living off the land, No ranks means what you're doing is not at all sustainable- Not worth crafting seeds with no points, just plant what you find and hope.

Rank 1 means you usually profit, but a bad harvest can set you back.

Max living off the land means you ALWAYS profit from your farming, even if you don't get a seed back. Every crop harvested gives you enough to make a new seed+1, so even with a full field of bad luck, you still gain food; And for every crop that returns its seed, you get more.

Ehm.. If at the end you have more than you started with, that's profit- That means you havve some left over to cook with. That kinda matters.

1 point makes it viable to start farming- You may have bad harvest, but on average a single point will make it so you mostly profit from the venture.

And, ultimately, it's viable to farm with zero points- Just not sustainable. You can always plant and grow the seeds you find at any skill level in order to get food, maybe even harvesting several times before losing the original seed.

Perhaps, but come on... this thread is a little more focused than that. :steammocking:

Actually what’s unexpected is that part about the grenade launcher, by which I assume you mean rocket launcher. I’ve always considered it a specialist weapon. Maybe you could main it on horde night when you have lots of zombies clustering, but do you really do dungeon crawls with it as a primary weapon?

hell by day 7 I typically have a full set of light armor and enough back up weapons I never have to worry about repairs. All gear is better then I can make, oh and thats living in the forest.

I couldn't loot my entire starting town even if I wanted too. Its got a downtown and default respawn ...

Yes and yes. Hosting the game and running the client on the same machine adds to the load on your system, speaking generally. The system requirements on the store page mention this.

Oh, and to what Johnson said, avalanches might be thorny to implement performance-wise but it’s an interesting idea. Voxels could potentially allow avalanches (and dynamic snow for that matter) in a way that all the non-voxel games couldn’t, so it’d be neat to explore.

The zombies are supposed to be the primary antagonists, according to Madmole. So I’d like to see a wide variety of cold weather zombies - preferably procedurally generated so that they’re not individually recognizable - instead of the one lumberjack. Then they wouldn’t have to rely so heavily on animals. All the animals have been kind of a nice change of pace, but it leads to balance issues and, again, the zombies are supposed to be the stars.

I'd just loot it. Ya'll too obsessed with trying to minmax your loot, If you just play you'll have a lot more fun, probably find better loot sooner (Because fun fact, you can find higher tier stuff even at lower game stages in a number of cases- It's just much rarer...EG: The fabled toilet pistol), and don't have to waste brainpower trying to remember which buildings have chests you decided not to loot until level 60 something.

The main issue is fixed, but testers found some secondary recalc issues, so I'm going to look at it again.

There will be an experimental, but not until a collection of issues are fixed. It will be announced in the forums when released.
