It used to be that the Motorcycle was faster than the 4x4; But now it's the same speed. 4x4 has more storage space though.

And yes, Generally speaking, the better vehicle types use more fuel. Motorcycle uses more than minibike; 4x4 more than motorcycle, and gyro more than 4x4.

But at the same time; You're not likely to have a much higher tier vehicle earlier in the game; And the later in the game you are, the more likely you can handle the fuel consumption. The moment you get the gas can recipe and can mine oilshale for gas, you'll never run out of fuel as long as you go mine once in awhile (or do one big mining trip for 100-500k+fuel)

Generated worlds and save games aren't located within the steam installation, Instead they're located at "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\"; Easily accessible by searching "%appdata%" in the windows search bar and selecting the Roaming folder that pops up.

I don't believe there is any other source for it than graces house. You could check your map folder's poi list to see if the POI is even in the world; But, if you'd prefer not to 'cheat' by peeking, then your only recourse will be to pray for a lucky drop as the seed CAN drop when looting.

On the other side though, it's not really a nerf. Having steel downgrade into concrete was a little cheaty. You're basically getting the total hp of two blocks, and not one.
I do believe steel should have a higher respective hp though. I always felt the current was a bit light for the cost of the upgrade.

I'm not sure I understand what he means by upgrades in between? On the forum he clarified that frames "upgrades to wood, wood upgrades to stone, stone upgrades to concrete then steel".
I'm guessing he means how it used to be:
Wood frame -> Wood -> Reinforced Wood -> Flagstone -> Cobblestone -> Wet Concrete -> Concrete -> Wet Concrete -> Reinforced Cocnrete -> Steel

Now it's just Frame -> Wood -> Cobblestone -> (Reinforced?)Concrete -> Steel..Or at least that's how I'm reading and understanding it. Read more

Oh, look, another remake of an already working system! How dare they do exactly what players have been requesting for several alphas and make all the shapes available, and even available in every material! This is unheard of cruelty! :winter2019joyfultearsyul:

Frames are there yet, as well as particle board (same thing) for experimental building with every shape available. That upgrades to wood, wood upgrades to stone, stone upgrades to concrete then steel. All blocks go poof.

You can build with any material but you only get XP for upgrading so if you want max XP start with particle board(frames) and then upgrade it all the way to steel. We haven't really talked about this, perhaps placing the block can grant XP for late game builders building with steel.

No but be assured we'll use that texture space for something useful.

Brick can probably be just textured stone AFAIK. Corrugated is still there. I don't think we've deprecated any blocks just yet but we'll do a conversion and probably release a conversion utility.

It's entirely different. All the shapes are in categories now, and unified no matter what material you are building with. So if I want wedge 60, it's always in the exact same category and same position regardless of if I'm building with wood/stone/concrete/steel/cloth etc. All shapes now exist in every material and are in the exact same menu location when using a different material helper.
You can build steel tables if you want or cloth tables, we don't care. Having a powerful build system you can get creative with is better than using realism to determine what you can and can't make.

I think we punted on that, there are too many other unfinished tasks to start on it.

I adjusted the beaker and chem station a bit. Yeah I agree that in the grand scheme of things opening up the chem station is game changing so it needs to have a cost.

Much as you might not like to hear it, Adding workshop now would be incredibly dumb. It would mean the moment A20 hits, 100% of the mods would be unusable, And of those maybe 30% would update in anything similar to a timely manner. Then A20.1 would hit and ruin a bunch of mod; Then A20.2 would hit and ruin a bunch of mods- A20.3, A20.4, Then A21 would hit and ruin 100% of the mods again.

By the time we hit release, 95% of the workshop would be old broken mods that break the game when used, with no good way to filter out what does or doesnt work on the user end.

Just, No. It's best practice to wait until the game is fully released and the underbelly is not changing significantly with every update, so that when workshop is implemented, it actually functions as an easy way to install mods and get them working instead of being a frustrating mess.

...Also, Adding workshop would not let modders get any more hold of the game than they already have... Read more

I would think not for horde zombies. If you ran into a POI on horde night, then POI zeds would follow sense rules? Be a while before this gets worked on.

We pool a lot of stuff, but you often get spikes anyway. Even changing parent from the pool to another owner can cause spikes.

Instantiating after the first time is typically cheaper, since Unity keeps resources around, so instantiate is often not that bad.

Unity 2020.3 LTS released today and in testing so far has been working great and in general, due to optimizing, the game is running quite well now.

When you realise just how many doors some buildings can have, that equals a lot of brass.
To the point I've so far never needed to melt my money.
Just a note, this is for most existing in world doors; It does not work on player crafted doors, and there are certain door types in the game world it does not work on like the vault door.

I've honestly never experienced the old or even new controller controls so I can't say which is better.

That said, from the description of the change in the patch notes, I'm guessing that they moved away from a weird control setup to the typical setup that all vehicles typically have in games. Which is to say, Left stick steers, while right stick controls the camera? In which case, I think you're just so accustomed to the old controls that the new (and basically industry standardized) controls feel weird tbh.
