1 melee weapon, 1 stealth ranged weapon, 1 panic ranged weapon if you have one. You should never need more than this. One stack of ammo each for the ranged weapons, or if they share ammo, then just one stack. EG: A club, A pistol with a silencer, and an SMG kitted for damage.

Food, and water you'll almost always find while looting- So you can just fill your belly before you leave your base and not stress over carrying food from your base on your looting run. Worst case is you get hungry and have to go home earlier than planned, but that would be very rare. At most 1 stack of some kind of food, and 1 stack of drinks; never more. Ideally the best food you have, and some kind of tea so you don't get dysentery. EG: Meat Stew and Chrysanthemum tea.

Medical supplies, Bring at least one kind of antibiotics, be it honey or pills, and one stack of bandage type items; bandages, first aid bandages, or first aid kits. There's no need to carry most of the other 'what if' med... Read more

You need to access the traders shop (See what he has for sale) to complete the quest. If it still doesn't finish, just abandon it, the reward of that quest is to lead you to the trader in the first place. Theres no other reward from it except maybe 100 exp which is negligible.

Technically yes, But, Not in anything that could be considered a 'timely fashion' as it would require you to upload the save file to your friend who would take over hosting; And of course for them to later upload it back to you again so you can host with the save file now updated from their continued play.

VR support is planned, but likely will be a post-gold feature.

As it currently stands, there is no way to create a mod that affects external files not related to the functioning of the game. The only way to accomplish what you say currently would be the honor system.

I'm sure some kind of permadeath option will be in the final release or maybe mid to late beta as it's an oft requested feature- But, likely not before then, and likely not tunable to only take effect on horde night specifically.

Holy crap someone praised the gyrocopter instead of complaining that it doesn't fly like a helicopter. *Twilight zone theme plays*

Glad you like it though. :D Tbh I didn't use it for the longest time, but after using it a few times i can't wait till i get to it anymore.

IMO faatal could save performance by reducing the area each zombie can be aware of.

So, for example, suppose zombies now "feel" the block strength in a 100x100 area around them... the pathfinding would need to find the path that far.

But if you reduce the area to (e.g.) 50x50 and apply the changes we suggested, maybe we could have enough processing power to make it work without tanking the game.

Now, if you reduce the area you can have other types of problems, like (e.g.) zombies never being able to find you on a Blood Moon. In that case my suggestion would be to use a very straghtforward, "light" pathing algorithm when the zombie is approaching from afar...

Splitscreen is not a feature of the PC version.

Basically, the current AI gives each zombie complete knowledge of all the blocks in the area. It's one thing for a zombie to know that a flagstone block is easier to destroy than a concrete block.

It's another thing for a zombie to 'look' at a solid wall in front of them, and know that the wall is double thick in some places but only single thick in other places, and target the thinnest part of the wall.

It makes guns a bit boring when the only sustainable gun is the Junk Turret. All other guns need constant running around looting buildings. Either for paper for shotguns or brass for other guns.

I don't think boring is the right word. If you ha... Read more

No no, It's likely just an issue with one of your mods. You can, with enough levels, buy every single skill in the game (Requires level 278 currently); You're never locked out of any tree or subsection of a skill tree. The only limitation now is the level of the primary attribute required for the skill (EG: To buy rank 3 of Better Barter requires level 5 intellect)

Those two skills should be marked as 1pt to purchase.

I would guess yes. Not sure new game would matter. A bandit POI could just not spawn them if the option was turned off in an existing game.

We are pretty much just trying to get tasks done. Dev talk should pick up as we get closer to A20 exp.

Clouds/sky/weather are legacy systems. They work how previous devs made them and then we refactor them to better meet the final design of the game. The why of designs is often lost and in the end I don't care, we just need to make it work to meet the goals of shipping the game. I've been cleaning up and rewriting those systems as time permits, but it is a big WIP.

Some of what you describe are just side effects of a combination of things and it may change by the time we go gold.

Test features are usually for debugging and generally don't become normal features. I'm not sure w

Correct. That list of features is just a list of what we plan to do. It may be months before someone works on it and often features will get pushed back, because it can't be done in time or at all due to unforeseen circumstances. As the alpha progresses, the list tends to get updated to reflect where we are at, but is no guarantee of anything.

We have bug tickets for such things, so eventually they should get looked at.

Basically yes. There are and may still be some global parts, but it is all WIP.

Not planned.

New players going about the game as someone would a typical survival game will be in for a rude awakening once they hit a higher gamestage and have hours of work ruined by attacks that are more severe than they expect.

If someone new plays a builder and perks into that (especially if building aesthetically) likely wont have a great base design or the means to defend it, and theres been a fair few rants from new players on the forums for similar issues from new players.

Knowing from the start that you have to prepare for what comes later needs to be clear, while 7days has pr...
