That's just way over the top. If they want to force us to a nomad only playstyle, then they need to remove crafting altogether.

As it is, the game is unplayable to me unless i find a way to tone this down without killing the entire idea of the g...

Originally posted by Mastercow: Back before water was reworked, it was possible to make water elevators. Emptying a bucket of water from a high altitude would cause the water to duplicate on the way down, and you could ride the tower of water up and down

Fun times

I imagine that would still work if you built an enclosure and then poured in multiple buckets of water. The problem would be that your swimming speed is absolutely terrible now.

Possible cause for most of this. Your ping to the server is higher than 50ms.

With that said though. It's probably a good thing this isn't designed to be a PvP game.

I got to day 120 or so for Alpha 19. I want to finish up my base all neat and tidy and make a nice video about it, but my attention keeps getting drawn elsewhere.

That's a lot of questions. If you want to know the answers for sure, you can locate your Config/items.xml file. All attacks are initiated by an item, whether a real item like a stone spear you wield (meleeWpnSpearT0StoneSpear) or an imaginary 'item' like meleeHandZombie01, which is what a basic zombie attacks you with. You can deep dive into the entity damage and various possible status effects from every attack in the game.

That's a valid option too, though you're still going to have similar gamestage limitations.

You could go to the game’s properties -> betas tab and switch back to Alpha 18.

It’s most likely that the information you researched referred to the console release, which is a separate beast. See the Console Talk sub-forum for more details.

Read the Pinned thread on how to report an issue, and follow the instructions. Will need logs from pastebin.

You also might take a stab at reading some of the other Pinned topics for troubleshooting tips.

Unfortunately, the devs don’t like the idea due to A) the performance impact of a bunch of animals hanging around in the same spot (in contrast with zombies, which one way or another die soon after spawning); and B) a desire for the player to “get off your ass” and explore the map instead of having everything they need at their base.

I want to point out that no one in this thread has talked about trying to cheese the AI, and you’re at risk of debating a straw man. The OP was asking if certain cheesiness has been fixed.

A baseless assumption, you say?

Here's the blocks.xml entry.

If the tree were searchable, it (or its parent, treeMaster) would have a LootList property, but they don't. There's simply no other logical explanation other than that your file(s) have been modified from vanilla. If this is unexpected, it's time to clean/verify/reinstall files.
