*edit: haven't taken that perk early on personally, but I'd quite frankly advice against it. I feel there's way better perks to spend the first 4 on.

Secondly, TFP uses internal measurements to judge their success in each build.

And, honestly, I don't know how that informs them. but it is a much bigger number than all of us that post on these forums. Are we a reflective subset of all the player base, maybe, maybe not.

Originally posted by fleatoad: No, they are crap. They should be collecting rain water too and why are they making glass jars out of nothing?
1. Dew collectors aren't rain collectors.
2. Game mechanics often don't mimic reality. Maybe you complain about being able to literally carry enough steel blocks to build a 1:1 scale model of the Titanic in your bag too? This argument is just silly.

Why would you want trash servers for a game designed for 8-player co-op? Look at Ark and Conan. Most of their official servers are the absolute worst gameplay for anyone that isn't devoting 10 hours a day to playing a single game.

If you take the dogs out of early POIs, the player never has a chance to learn how to deal with A dog before potentially an entire PACK of dogs comes running for them. Yeah, It's a hard lesson and it might cause a newbie a death or two, but they gotta learn how to deal with it somehow- And one dog in a t1 POI, typically set up so that the dog is the ONLY thing you have to deal with when it comes for you, is a way easier learning experience than a dog pack on day 3-4 running you down and feeling potently unfair.

As a rule of thumb, threads started during a previous alpha are too old to resurrect. You may start a new thread with a link to the old one, if you like. Closing this thread under our rule against necroposting.

So TFP put, no telling how many man hours, and money into a system that wasn't meant to be permanent? That's some of the best bovine scatology I've seen you post yet.
Barely any man hours and maybe a couple hundred bucks tops. They bought a skill system off an asset store and spent an hour or two renaming things to suit the genre; They spent more time ... Read more

So I'm right, no?
No, you aren't. Saying that "they couldn't manage it" does not mean the same thing as re-designing a system to better meet their development vision.

The former implies that TFP was incapable, which is incorrect. The LBD system was just filler. It was never intended to stay. ...

Follows "practice makes perfect" and all that.
It was like that but devs couldn't manage it and gave up on it.

RNG is RNG, and decisions are decisions. I crafted my own gear plenty, rarely found a Q6 before I'd already made a Q5 a week or two earlier.

But if you have really good luck or raid higher tier POIs, or grind quests 24/7, I could see you ending up with Q6 gear before you can craft Q5. But I think this is more a matter of the loot lists and such not being fully retailored to account for the crafting curve- Most notably, there just wasn't enough info on the loot list inadequacies prior to the patch going public. The testing group as I understand it never ran into this 'problem'; But after it went live, there's been sporadic reports of people getting Q6 before they can even craft Q5. So I'd expect it to get polished out in the nearer future than the further future.

I see this as a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of what the developers are setting out to do with these updates.

This game is in alpha. They are not and should not be changing things for the sake of recapturing and sustaining players' interest for another year. They are looking to complete the game. They are pushing towards a 'gold' release, in other words.

When they added a zillion kinds of doors in A21, it's not because they got tired of looking at the old doors, per se. It's that the doors they had were limited, temporary placeholders, and now the final, 'gold' quality door assets are fully implemented. That's one thing off their list of things for the finished game to have.

Usually it's because you didn't exclude the client and save folders from security software.

This is covered in detail in the Pinned Troubleshooting thread in the Support section of the forum. Since you apparently weren't able to find that section, I'll move your thread there to help you out.

People that want to discuss the game can do so right here; that's what the forum is for. However, how the News page is operated is not what the forum is for, so we're going to close this.

Those points aren't strictly wasted. First off, Having them means you'll find the vehicle books more often- Which, given you want to make handlebars, will be pretty important.

Second, you can respec at any time with a Grandpa's Fergettin Elixer- Nothing stopping you from respeccing out of those decisions, or even waiting till you can craft the handlebars before doing so.

I'm copying this from Zipcore's Discord, because he put a lot of information together really nicely.

The End User License Agreement (EULA) for the game "7 Days to Die" contains several important points that you should consider when creating mods and monetizing them on your server. Let's analyze the relevant sections of the EULA to determine what you are allowed to do and what might be restricted.

Let's be real here though. If you mined one or two shale nodes, you never worried about gas again for the rest of the game. In a20 it was 10 gas for one shale. One block layer of a node could give you easily more than 10,000 shale.
In a21 it's five per, and still didn't have any shortages.
TFP wants you to have to struggle for some things. Not be showering yourself in liquid gold. This change is about balance, and TFP is finally starting to balance the game to have more survival aspects as was originally intended.

Now back on topic...
For duct tape, let's look at the recent history for clarification since the OP didn't bo... Read more
