Are you using any mods? A lot of mods aren't made to be used in the editors and so cause a bunch of issues if they aren't disabled. If you don't need any mods in the editor, the best thing is to use the -disableMods launch option.

Landscaping tools do not work well with the brush size set to "single" - increase it to show a number and it will behave much better.

You will also want to turn the strength down a lot to something like 0.1

Some mods start doing something as soon as the game loads, so even if they are disabled in the content manager, they are still affecting the game. Using -disableMods stops the game from loading them completely, and combined with -noWorkshop the game runs like it would if no mods or assets were installed at all. Plus it's often faster to use the launch options than disabling things in the content manager. :)

Perfect thank you! ^^

Try removing this one. It does something similar to Fine Road Tool and so is likely also broken.

If you can post your output log (player.log on Mac or Linux), then we can see your mods and any errors that might show up, which could be related. At least it's a good place to start narrowing things down. This guide explains where to find the log and suggests some sites to upload it to, as we can't attach files here on Steam.

Bug reports should always go on the official forums, where the devs can see them. Generally it's best to exclude mods as the cause first. :)

Are you using any mods or workshop assets? How much RAM does your computer have?

If you add the launch option -noWorkshop and -disableMods, does it then still happen?

Right everyone, let's keep this civil please. You don't get to be rude just because you disagree with the OP. Disguss the points, not the person.

That's usually a memory related error. Try adding the launch option -noWorkshop and see if it will load fine.

If you suspect there's something different going on, then we'll need the output log to see what's happening.

Are you thinking of this one? I don't think MT is required, but it would probably replace roads with better options when MT is owned. :)

yeah all it was, it was just the Steam update...

So to increase my memory, should I increase the pagefile? Or install more RAM?

Installing more RAM or reducing the amount of workshop content you have are the best options here. Increasing the size of your pagefile might also do it, but it's already really l... Read more

Something pushed you over the edge. You had an update today, which might have been a mod or an asset. All it takes is for it to increase memory usage just enough that your pagefile can't keep up anymore.

Other factors that I've seen play a role is driver updates and Windows updates, which also increase memory usage. Or if you're running any other programs while the game runs, updates to them which increase memory usage. An extra open tab in your browser can be all it takes.

It's definitely a memory crash. Your pagefile is full (and all the way up at 65GB!!). You need to reduce the amount of workshop content you are using, as it's way more than your system can handle. I reocmmend making workshop collections for things you might want to use at some point, but aren't using right now. It's a good way to keep track of nice assets and save RAM.

With 16GB of RAM you are expected to be able to have around 800-1200 assets (reduce that by 400 for each major DLC you have). Anything above that uses the pagefile.

You can also save memory by making sure you have no other programs running while playing the game. Browsers, media players, discord and so on all use RAM and you want to leave as much as you can for Cities.

We really need more info here. Are we talking about Windows' blue screen with writing on it? Or is the game loading to an empty blue screen? Those are entirely different situations with entirely different solutions, so for us to be able to help, we need to know much more about what's actually happening. :)

I would actually recommend a pagefile of 32GB.

It could be that you're running out of memory, which is causing the game to crash. Whatever the update was might have increased your memory usage enough to push you over, what your system can handle. Increasing the size of your pagefile should fix that.

It might also be something completely different ofc. To really see what's happening, we'll need your output log (player.log on Mac and Linux). This guide explains where to find it and suggests some sites to upload it to, as we can't attach files here on Steam.

This happens sometimes after a crash. Sometimes restarting the game does the trick (but mods will likely need to be enabled again), other times you will need to log out of Steam, shut Steam down, restart it and log back in before starting the game again.

Find It can access everything, also things that we shouldn't be able to access.

I would NOT use More Beautification. The mod has some minor issues. Find It is a much better option at this point.

Which props are we talking about? The decorative stuff like rocks or logs are easy enough to plop with Find It. The animal spawners however do not work correctly and would need to be inside a building. There are some on the workshop you can use if you want to place those in your city.
