2020_07_27_083932 is the name of a folder the game made, which contains some files that are helpful in determining the crash. It's the date of the crash followed by an ID number. ;)

To find the folder, go to your Library in Steam, right click on Cities: Skylines and select Properties. Then find the Local Files tab and click the button Browse Local Files. Grab the 2-3 files in the folder and upload them somewhere. These sites are good options:

https://uploadfiles.io/ - free, no sign-up, can handle large log files
https://paste.ee/ - fast, no sign-up required (some log files will be too large for it though)
https://zerobin.net/ -... Read more

It sounds like the edits you did to the plane paths have caused them to break completely. :/ I would try to redo them back to how they originally looked or at least keep trying different designs until they work again. Be careful with road anarchy and make sure they are soft flowing lines with no weird turns and only very few (if any) connections. You don't want to connect them all.

Generally airports behave weird when they're right under the paths. You don't need the paths to cross the entire city or come close to the paths. You just need them sorta flying over a bit of the map.

You might also want to relocate the airport (not using Move It, but the default way to replop it). This lets it reconnect to the plane paths on the map.

If you're using TMPE you can use it to clear all traffic, which should despawn the stuck trains (and all other traffic). If it isn't too many trains, you can also use TMPE to despawn them each by selecting them and clicking the little red X in the box that appears.

If you aren't using TMPE, you can use the Loading Screen Mod to clear all vehicles on load. To do this, go into Options and find the Loading Screen Mod on the left, then check the option to remove vehicles under Safe Mode.

Ofc you will also want to fix whatever is causing this. Sometimes it happens if we mess around with Move It, and then will solve itself once the stuck vehicles are gone. Other times there's a problem in the rails that cause trains to get stuck, which you will need to solve. If you can find the spots causing problems, you can post screenshots here to get help solving the problem. :)

As others have pointed out, it is not the same people who work on things like the weekly streams or the global collaboration videos. Colossal Order are the developers of the game and the ones who work on updates (DLCs or patches with bugfixes alike), while Paradox is the publisher, who handles the marketing and promotion, like streams and videos. So one does not take time away from the other.

Depending on what you would like an update for, there are different ways to let the developers know. For any bugs or issues in the game, those should be reported on the official forums here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/support-bug-reports.879/

Wishes for new features or DLCs can be shared and discussed on the official forums as well: ... Read more

We will need to see your output log (player.log on Mac and Linux) to be able to help. This guide explains where to find it and suggests some sites to upload it to, since we can't attach files here on Steam.

Yes, this seems to happen when using the 81 tiles mod and buying extra city tiles. Each time you buy a tile, the metro gets lowered one step. Best thing to do is buy/unlock all tiles in one go and rebuild your metro system.

My best guess would be one of these mods are misbehaving:

  • Advanced Buildings Editor - not made for use in the city, I recommend completely unsubscribing when you aren't using it.
  • DistrictStats - hasn't been updated after Industries came out and might affect the same code as the area overview

On another note, Plop the Growables and Disable Zone Check are incompatible and break each other. You should remove one of them.

Transport Line Manager and Improved Public Transport are also incompatible, so again pick one and remove the other.

Prop Switcher and Prop It Up are incompatible too. I recommend using Prop Switcher - while it doesn't support trees atm, it is being updated and worked on, while Prop It Up is abandoned.

If that doesn't solve the issue, let me know. I can at least narrow down what mods it might then be by excluding the ones I use, so you won't have to test all your mods. :)

About the asset thing I was wondering if there was any way to find specific mods and workshop assets that cause the problems because I dont know if I can play the game with houndreds or thousands of deleted assets.

It isn't really about a few problem assets or mods though, it's about the amount in total. You can look for unoptimized assets or remove ones with larger textures/filesizes - then you'd have to remove less. The mod MeshInfo lets you sort assets by their texture size, and textures are what account for most of the filesize.

Ofc larger buildings use larger textures, and sometimes it... Read more

Hmm, it took a while where nothing happened, but in September (in game) cars finally made it to the city. Try and leave it running for a long while and see if they start showing up. If they aren't coming from the closest outside connection, they have to take a long road around because of the way the map is designed. Definitely gets you sitting there for a while worried that something is wrong.

If you make it into October and no vehicles arrive, then there's something up with your game, that we'd need to solve. Then I'll need your output log (player.log on Mac and Linux) to see might be happening. This guide explains where to find it and suggests some sites to upload it to, as we can't attach files here on Steam.

Oh, that was not what I expected at all, but that definitely looks all wrong. :S

What if you do a test on a new city? Does that also look weird or is it just this save?

I recommend you post on the official forums about this. That's the best place to get help with non-mod issues.

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/support-bug-reports.879/

Those temperatures also aren't good, especially the CPU heating up without being overly used. If you haven't cleaned out your computer recently, then maybe it's time to do so, to make sure everything is able to cool properly. It might not be related to your stuttering, but temps in the 90s is an issue in itself that needs to be resolved.

Is it on a default map or a workshop map? And can you upload the save, so we can take a look? To do that, go into Content Manager, find Savegames, find the save and click the Upload button. Then post the link to its workshop page here.

You cannot change the base theme (or environment) of a map without mods. The only way to do that (and play a Temperate map as European for example) is with the Environment Changer Mod.

For traffic it's also important to understand, that vehicles always take the fastest route to their destination, and that they don't pay attention to traffic. They work kinda like if you have a GPS or Google Maps calculate a route for you to take - they don't see other cars and only change lanes when they need to make turns (or avoid turn lanes).

Add the launch options -noWorkshop and -disableMods (make sure they're spelled exactly like that or they won't do anything) to Steam and start a new city on one of the default maps. Does it work? If yes, then it's a problem with a mod you have installed. If no, then try resetting keybinds for the game as well as try the key options to rotate (in case the mouse is dying).

Adding to what jecleworth said, you enable the report in Options for the Loading Screen Mod. There you can also see where the report is saved and change the location if you want it somewhere else.

Keep in mind though that missing assets are only a problem if you want them. The game works just fine without and sometimes it can be a good thing to have missing assets. Everything you're subscribed to is loaded and uses memory. Not subscribing to a tree or a prop that you don't care about lets you save memory for other things.

I have about 500 missing items every time I load, which is trees that don't fit the city I'm making or props I don't really like. And that lets me have a bunch more assets that I really want instead. :)

Try logging out of Steam, shut Steam down completely, restart Steam and log back in. That usually does the trick.

Make sure you have the exact spelling for -disableMods as it won't do anything if it isn't exact.

Crashing could very well be your game running out of RAM. And easy way to test that is to also add the launch option -noWorkshop so the game runs as complete vanilla. If it runs fine then, the crashing is likely due to running out of RAM from having too much workshop content.

If you haven't already set a nice large pagefile, then I recommend doing that. Setting it to 32GB helps the game run much smoother and results in less crashing. This guide explains how to change the pagefile.

Hmm, that could very well be related. Could you try and trigger the error and then upload the output log from that attempt? With a bit of luck that error will give some idea of what's going wrong.
