This issue only happens when there is an issue with reaching authentication servers, which can happen as one of the following reasons:
- You are offline.
- Steam is in offline mode.
- Steam is on maintenance.
- Steam has any other issues.
- You played a game with a cracked steamapi without restarting Steam after that.

In every case - restarting Steam should fix it, aside if it or you are actually offline.

If the save is missing then I would guess that it got corrupted and you will probably have to start again.

As far as I know, ECO still suffers from a memory leak issue so I would advise hosts to close and relaunch the game every few hours to clear the memory and help avoid crashes.

A crash often leads to a corrupted database as databases do not like to be exited ungracefully, restoring a backup from the backups folder should be enough in that case, no new start needed.

Keep in mind that different servers have different settings for the speed in gaining stars and that required XP only grows exponentially until a specific star number, after that you always need the same amount of XP.

No - it does not. It drills into the direction of the block side you are targeting from your position, in this case sideways, that's why I said 'hollow' is a possible outcome, when there is nothing on the other side.

This is intended. 25% of your barrels get lost due to wear and tear. Eco cannot give you half a barrel, hence rounding comes into play if you only ever order one. Is technically an exploit, but by code limitation. Given that you'd need to order one-by-one, that's not a big issue.
