I guess you don't play with the currently still default-off setting that makes empty blocks remove the eligiblity for a room, so it might think due to how you build it that it is a room with many holes, just reducing the tier of the room massively due to the hole, but still allowing it to be a valid room.

You never played on White-Tiger where you need to craft each scroll with the price of the respective book? Well, then play next cycle, when you need to craft each scroll at the price of the book and first need to craft the book as a server-wide megaproject to unlock it in the sense of ages with a price similar to a mini WT computer lab! (Like in Civilization)

Or in other words: I somehow don't agree :D

That sounds a bit pessimistic, but there is enough admins that take their 'pretending of running a democracy' serious and deliver great gameplay. The same applies to admins that have other concepts than direct democracy on their servers. I'm happy with pretty much any admin that is able to make rules and keep to them strictly.

A lot of screenshots of the rooms with the room info in the bottom right would be useful, as I can hardly imagine the situation.

That is something we will definitely not do, as the laws are not supposed to deal with game mechanical elements like skill resets. Any configuration will be up to the server administrator.

The goal of respeccing will be to allow new players a change of choice if they feel their first choice wasn't fun (or for others to respec if they see their profession is not in best need) and to make it easier to respec into a different profession in late game, when people with specific professions left. An option to respec because of too many people have chosen a spec is not planned.

That's a security measure, as it would work the other way around, which on most public servers would potentially cause havoc. I get that in a small group of players that know each other this might be different.

To my knowledge, nutrients will not increase naturally without fertilizer. The farming system is one of the older ones and will get a rework in the future, though.

Kind of makes the game lame. SO I guess this is like minecraft but for pansies
It's the point of the game. This is not Rust, the focus is on society-building and saving the planet. Your PvP lies in different political and economical opinions and that can and does already lead to lots of drama ... Read more

Together with the upcoming rework of the skill system we will introduce a respec possibility for server admins that will be available to all servers in a first step. There is also plans for a player-based respec system that will be very limited and comes later. It's planned to allow you a respec of your first star, as long as you haven't played for a specific time yet and did not yet receive a second star. Additionally there will be configuration options for server admins to allow respecs going beyond that, but they will be extremely limited and / or disabled by default to ensure economic stability.

You will be able to use aqueducts for waterwheels, but no water physics yet, unfortunately.

Current research available to us actually shows that most of the animals we have do not react with aggressiveness towards humans on entering territory. Even when hunting, most of them will flee. An especially, near dead-hungered animal would likely take such a choice, yes. But in most cases they're simply not predators towards humans. So we would need to implement the 'may' as a low chance, as it's not a majority of elks that would react like this.

We currently do not plan to provide an option for that at least, so this would rather be something for a mod. In general, we want to provide a base game that is inherently up to our standards and options are only there where they make sense or are needed in regards to fine-tuning progression and balance, but not for 'features', aside from experimental ones for trying out.

Animal Hostility has been a thing but due to massive community complaints it has been turned down massively. As the community is pretty split on that point (lots of requests for it, even more complaints afterwards) and most people wish to play Eco peacefully, that likely will not become a thing again in the forseeable future. Most animals IRL also aren't actually hostile as we presented them, which is an educational problem. (Coyotes, Wolves)

Animal Husbandry is a planned feature, yes.

Hey all, we’re starting our weekly updates again and have tons of work to show on Eco. Over the past year we’ve had the good fortune to double the size of the team, which means lots more in the works. We’re working on a lot of features in parallel, so you’ll see progress on a lot of these then suddenly they’re all the in game at once. As discussed in our last update, we’re focusing on a couple things with current dev:
  • A pack of features we call ‘Eco Infinite’, which expands the game to support thriving communities that don’t end at the meteor, but can go indefinitely with interesting/challenging gameplay and social connections.
  • UX upgrade, making everything cleaner, smoother, and better; especially for new users.
  • Performance! Switching the engine over to Unity’s ECS system + burst compiler which will give a giant speed up for animals, landscape generation, everything.
Here’s the deets on some of ... Read more

You shouldn't need any third-party software, actually. But it is known that Hamachi does not work well with Eco, though that is not an issue as you aren't intended to use such software in the first place. But glad it works :)

Ah, so he was looking at the tag that is pretty much a group that contains all the different crushed stone types so they're interchangable. Thanks! :)
