That make sense - the problem is a few of our proxies which decided to be anti-social today, so if you roll the dice it can fix it. But we can’t just take those offline individually without crashing everyone connected to them.

I was a little overzealous in my time estimations. The data is currently ready, the CSM is giving feedback on some of the graphs and layouts and we hope to have that information out Very Soon™

Spacefriends,

Swift and I were invited to the excellent Declarations of War podcast were we covered a lot of ground.

2021 is certainly not “years ago”, even though it might feel like it due to circumstances. :frowning:

Your absolutely right. I didn’t remember that when writing out my reply and I should have mentioned that. I was more referring to us locking official threads but your point still stands.

Not that we’re considering introducing it again but the mechanic is a timer set to an arbitrary point in the future until it expires so that’s strange if that thread is still in slow mode. I’ll have to check out what’s causing that, thanks for the heads up!

Well, since you asked, there was a period of time when CCP would start off a thread in ‘slow mode’ which was really annoying and I have seen the offical forumthreads for patch notes getting locked.

  • This hasn’t been the case since I started at CCP so that’s a couple of years at least. Edit - (We tried employing slow mode last year for a limited time but quickly moved away from it.) I also don’t remember this(Locking official posts) happening specifically when I was a player but I could just have missed it or forgotten. In any case we neither use slow mode or lock official threads.

The best way to talk about things you like / don’t like is to post it in the most recent General Feedback thread or a Devblog thread, like ...

Flagging a post or a topic, regardless of how many times doesn’t mean we’ll automatically do something about it. It just means we’ll take a look at it.

As for players using multiple accounts to try to scheme threads or posts being locked or removed, that’s something I’ve suspected on a few occasions but when checked has never been the case, at least not in the use of alts. That doesn’t mean it’s never happened in the past but I’ve never seen it.

In regard to locking the topic because the replies are all super bad. This is something that’s of course not supposed to happen under normal circumstances and is only ever done if the post is beyond repair and we would have to delete almost every comment in a thread.

This is a dilemma and usually only ever happens when something blows up before we can step in. We of course try as much as possible to allow discourse, especially when it’s directed at CCP but sometimes it’s just not a good thing to remove almost every comme...

Echoing what PixyWarrior mentioned - all previously affected sites should now be despawned and acting correctly. If you are experiencing any issues, please file a bug report and also tag me in this thread and I’ll gladly take a look.

Thanks for the patience, Capsuleers - we’re all excited to see the great things your mining empires (both big and small!) will get up to in YC 124

Civic-minded Capsuleers!

This week, CSM member progodlegend informed CCP of his intentions to resign his seat on CSM 16. This was done entirely by his own volition, and progodlegend resigns his seat in good standing. Given the duration of the term that he has served on, this will count against his term limits should he seek re-election in CSM 17 and beyond.

Based on CSM 16 election results, the next member-elect of CSM 16 is Arsia Elkin. Arsia has accepted the position as CSM 16 Council Member, completed necessary paperwork, attended her first weekly meeting, and is busy working with current members in the onboarding process for her new role. We expect great things from Arisa, and we’re excited to have her extensive knowledge enhance an already impressive CSM squad.

In other CSM related news - you can expect some CSM Summit news & updates soon™ as existing plans for an in-person summit (scheduled for this February) were postponed due to Omicron-related restr...

Just a quick MER update!

The Mining Values in the December MER are inaccurate. Attached is a graph comparing Volume of Ore mined - that is ore that is successfully mined (aka after residue). Intentionally absent is the Winter Nexus Event Ice, so that a proper comparison can be made to previous months.

The teams are looking at what caused the issue for the December MER Mining Values and will have an updated MER with more accurate information as soon as it is available.

Not nearly as drastic as this one, though

There was an increase in the amount of ore mined in December over November, which is not accurately reflected in the the December MER (likely due to the issue that caused its delay). This net increase does not include Ice from the Winter Nexus sites.

We do have a full suite of internal tools that produce reports for internal use on a daily basis (the CSM has seen some of the reports if you’d like their verification), such that our game designers can make informed and data driven de...

There was another - albeit much more rare- issue affecting all mining sites fixed in todays patch. Sites that were not properly respawning as a result may take a few days to despawn before respawning in the fixed state.

Comment

Good evening capsuleers! As a few of you have pointed out, there are potentially some inaccuracies with the “Mining value by region” data for the December MER. We’ll look to rectify this ASAP and publish any updated values.

This is the first time that I hear about a sticky shift key (during development we had frequent problems with other modifier keys), and unfortunately I have not seen this myself so far. It would be great to get more details on this. How often is this happening? Is is possible that any macOS command might be interfering, or maybe cmd-tabbing out of the EVE client?

I’m afraid EVE has never supported Direct X 10, so support wasn’t dropped for it at the same time as DirectX 9. Direct X 11 (Feature level 11_0) is currently the only Direct X level we support on Windows.

Hi @Lan_Aurilien
I’m sorry for the issues you’re experiencing.

Could you provide me with your ticket numbers / EVE Bug Report information?

We are aware that some users are experiencing a ‘mouse lag’ issue, where the cursor appears to jump around the screen. We have been unable to replicate this internally, but we have seen videos of the issue from players. I assure you we are investigating it, but without a reproduction, we can’t find out the root cause and fix :frowning:

I’m also interested in the stability issues you’re experiencing. An EBR with system information and any steps you have taken for the crash to happen would be very useful for us to inves...

Could you please give more details (or send a bug report with the details)? For which specific video card are you experiencing this? If this is on a laptop: Does the laptop has also a 2nd graphics chip?
