Hi Dark, thank you for your interest! As someone who loves boss farming, and did way too much of it in Diablo 2, I’d like to answer your question personally.

  1. We do aim to have boss fights have interesting and unique mechanics. That is not reflected extremely well in the current version of the game due to bandwidth being allocated elsewhere, though as you may have seen in our development forecast we have boss reworks slated.
  2. We will have enemy specific loot tables.
  3. We do intend to have content that is very hard that will require above average itemization, character building, and skill. We believe having a long term goal to defeat hard content is important to the game longevity and feel.
  4. If you like boss farming you will be able to adequately gear your character by doing so. High end Monolith content may have the ability to drop better loot more frequently in some cases of course.

Hey Blakey, it saddens me to hear that this issue is keeping you from playing the game but I do understand. It is an issue with how our engine handles resources and changes to them - we’ve identified a way to address this but it is not a small task. I’ve personally set out to find another developer resource to help us implement the solution. I’m hoping to have this implemented in the upcoming months.

Until then, many thanks for your early support and I hope the next time you boot up Epoch this is no longer a pain point.

Are you referring to the Forge in that image being unable to spawn enemies? I wasn’t able to find any issues with enemy spawns in this Monolith zone during my testing. The enemies always spawned at the start and clicking on the Forge spawned more.

Some more detail on what problem you’re seeing and a log file would help. Thanks!

I'm going to lock this discussion as our Game Director has addressed the issue and the comments have unfortunately required an atypically large amount of moderation. As an indie team there is a limit to how much moderation we can perform over the weekend. Please feel free to create new posts about any other issues with the profanity filter.

That’s what I’m talking about! Great stuff in there.

Reap does scale off of Int and Dex by default. It gets +1 base damage per int and 4% increased damage per dex. So at 100 int it has +100 damage which is really strong considering it starts at 2. Now, if this isn’t working right, it might not be being reflected in gameplay and that might be a bug we need to look at.

I like the idea of adding protections in to the armor node or possibly as its own node.

The minion nodes might have to go. The Lich itself needs to have some minion synergy but Reaper Form is almost the far reaches of the class and those nodes might just be muddying the waters as you say.

I like the idea of the in/out nodes being more synergistic and promoting that through cooldowns of the skill itself. I’m hoping to get a few different styles working with this tree.

Unfortunately, this is a brand new problem for us so we don’t have any established troubleshooting methods.

I’ve got some generic suggestions that have a modest chance of success.

  1. Re-install the game from scratch.
  2. Install the game using the other method instead (steam vs standalone)
  3. Re-install drivers, motherboard, graphics, etc.
  4. Turn off other programs that are running which might cause a conflict. We have had issues with VPN software in the past. Anti-virus programs like Avira and McAfee are a little overzealous when it comes to our game.
  5. Reload windows from scratch. This would be a very last resort and I wouldn’t recommend it just to try and fix this because it’s a lot of work for a very low chance of helping. I only bring it up because this did fix someone else’s system for a different problem that ended up having to do with conflicting software.

We found a filter that another large company used which contains thousands of words that we're having to reduce over time as we find ones that aren't appropriate to sensor. If you can imagine, as an indie team it doesnt make a lot of sense to put someone on creating a list of words from scratch as there are bigger fish to fry, haha! Plus I don't think anyone needs to hear some of the terms put into these filters.

Your example for instance shouldn't exist and I've gone ahead and removed that now so it shouldn't be filtered in the next patch release. Thanks, Pkirish!

I’ve had a look at the files you posted, and it seems like the launcher was running for about an hour. The log file shows timestamps for when it downloads data.

To clarify, the Launcher is what starts immediately after you use the installer, and is what downloads the actual game. Once the Launcher finishes downloading, you’re able to click a button and start the game. Did you have an issue with starting the actual game, or the launcher? A screenshot or video would be helpful if you’re unsure, you can upload it to a site like imgur.com.

You’re right that we would prefer to have you come on the forums to give feedback rather than just uninstalling. I would prefer even more to have that feedback be a suggestion on what we should do instead. The way it was set up was a mistake and it needed to be changed. We will continue to change it until it is fun. If you’re not sure on how it should be changed instead, that’s totally fine too.

Yea, this is actually the second time we’ve seen this problem. They were getting it on load in to specific scenes.
