Because as cool as the Voli and Fiddles reworks are, they were, or so I've read, considered part of the "new" monster champs for that year.

Is this the case? And if it is...could it not?

When I said new a meant a new champ, not a VGU

While VGUs do count, I think at this point, regardless of VGUs, it's been to long since we did a NEW creature champ (Yuumi being the last one)

I still think you could probably do a bit more to sell the "Living doll" vibe, maybe some pailer skin or hollower looking eyes

She's ALMOST there, just needs a bit extra

She's not meant to be a living doll. She is a doll that has been transformed into a human, similar to Pinocchio. We had early versions where she was more of a living doll but it felt too similar to Oriana and even more so to Shaco.

I don't want to get into too many specifics, but her Hallowed Mist essentially provides her with an area of safety from enemies outside it. She plays around it a little like Wind Wall, protecting her from enemies outside it, but if they cross the threshold, they're in there with her able to fight.

She's not designed to fight ranged champions; her target access isn't that great. She just wants some safety while she snips up the frontline.

That was an extremely entertaining series to watch. There is a lot of critique to be shared, but as a fan of high intensity league with impressive mechanical plays, this is a big W

Using existing champions as examples, which champs would sit on the cusp of human/humanoid and humanoid/creature? Also, what would Urgot, Sejuani (as a rider of a creature) and Udyr's placement be?

Sejuani would be human, Urgot would be humanoid. Creatures would be like Yuumi, Rek'Sai, Vel'Koz, Kindred, Kha'Zix, etc

Again, I don't know if you can share this but does the next champion (the mage) count as Humanoid or Creature and is she basically the "monster" champion of the year?

Also are you happy with how Viego has landed so far in terms of popularity?

Do you expect Gwen to be widely popular or more niche?

The mage would be under humanoid. So far Viego has landed exactly as we predicated, so yeah we are pretty happy with his reception. We expect Gwen to be somewhat popular but not like super popular. We are currently predicating she will land somewhere near Fioras overall playrate

So will the percentages and stuff that you told us before be changing as well? Like will we be guaranteed at least one creature every year, and then a certain percentage of humanoids and humans? Also it's good to hear that the terminology will be changing. I know that a lot of people have been very upset that champs like Lulu, Xayah, Aatrox, and Rek'sai were all in the same category and fighting for spots.

I wouldn't expect a creature every year. Though we are planning to make sure we get one in 2022 since it's bee awhile (And not a cutsy one like Yuumi) For this year the non-human is what we would put in Humanoid (like Lillia, Aatrox, Yordles, Etc..) What we want to do starting in 2022 is do less pure humans, not necessarily more creatures (So more humanoid/humanish champs)

and on another note; are you doing the roles thing again? viego being jungle, gwen being top, the mage being mid and so on. does this mean we will get an adc and support, I guess later this year?

As I mentioned in the SS video, we are still doing the roles thing again this year

To make a champion that RUNS with scissors. I don't know if I can let my kids play this game.

This is the only time it’s ok to run with scissors, kids.

Honestly I'm stoked to hear that. I've been worried for a while that the definition of "monster/creature" was expanding to include Champs like Renek or Lillia. Hearing that they count as humanoid fills me with hope for future Champion designs.

yeah we are defining it now as Human, Humanoid, and Creature, and going to be more deliberate to make sure we are making champs in all 3, though we will still likely be doing mainly Human/Humanoid Champions with creatures thrown in (Since creatures tend to be much lower playrate in general. We still want to make them, it's just a smaller audience, so we will generally make less)

Im working on one right now, targeting sometime after Gwen goes live

I remember a post back in January saying how this year team is doubling down on different thematics even though less popular.

While we are shifting to do less straight humans, (though this doesnt mean less humanoids, it just means we want to do more stuff like Renekton/Aatrox/Lillia as in humanoids) the effects of that shift won't really be seen until 2022, since champ timelines are so long. And this doesnt mean we don't want to make creatures anymore, we do, it just doesnt mean we plan on suddenly making tons of creatures, just less pure humans.

Thank you for not saying anything though. Definitely a pleasant surprise. I was unsure how Isolde as a champion would fit in lorewise, but this is really good stuff!

Edit: As a side, can we expect any Yorick-Viego-Isolde related lore updates or cinematics?

All im going to say for now is , the story is far from over

I was wearing a small! They fit well for my skinny ass. I really like joggers and I thought they were good, would recommend if you've got the budget.

Hey! You are the guy responsible for Sylas right? First of all thanks for caring about and engaging with the community.

Im not OP but there are a lot of reasons. Imo they dont feel strong at all, when AP Bruisers like Sylas, Diana or whoever else dont buy these items, then maybe there is a problem.

I think the way to go is to make the existing AP bruiser items not a choice, I know the goal of the Item Update was to make the champs not reliant on just one Mythic, but when there arent a lot of options for a class and the existing ones arent even bought, thats a problem IMO

Right now Demonic Embrace feels like an item for DOT champs instead of AP Bruisers, imo changing the percent health damage it does to something like the Deaths Dance passive but for every damage instance would greatly improve the satisfaction and feel of this item

I did his mini-rework, yep. Thanks for the perspective.

Demonic was the item I was most hyped for when you guys were showcasing the preseason items. AP Bruiser Sylas was by far my favorite thing to ever play in League, and I was still making it work after the removal of the shield with the ROA + Nashor's Tooth build (admittedly not the best, but it worked for me in low diamond and normals).

Demonic was great for all of like two weeks, and then people figured out that you could double-down with an overtuned Liandry's burn and build both items on literally every mage to turn everyone into an artillery Brand.

IMO, Demonic feels like a joke at this point, the resistance gain is pitiful, and the item just feels weak in comparison to any other non-troll option for a 2nd or 3rd slot. I'd much rather give up some of the upfront damage/AP for more resistances, or a ramp-up to the burn, or some CDR/Ability Haste. In Demonic's current state, it feels like it's doomed to be a weak item or i...

So your objection is mainly that you feel it's underpowered or bound to non-bruiser champs, not that you're unsatisfied with the mechanics/pattern for AP bruisers.

Do you mind elaborating on what feels bad exactly? Is it that the items' patterns feel bad, that you think they are undertuned or something else? Also if you could describe your ideal state for the item's balance (eg. do you expect AP bruisers to have choice on their second item, or do you think a better state is for them to always buy demonic embrace second?)

Zhonyas, Banshees, Demonic, Cosmic, Rylais, Morello, Lich, etc. are all meant to be purchasable on AP Bruisers depending on the game state and champion.
