In there we see the game crashing in CELib_x64.dll . Am I right in thinking that is part of a 'training' (cheat) utility? If so we need to remove that from this machine while we work on this. That might account for some of the errors in that log, which I have not seen before.

I don't see any other reason for this problem in those files. If you uninstall that cheat app and start a new test galaxy, do you still get this problem?

Garr Incorporated said: Well that is a very excessive way to make this work. One installs the game from Steam, hoping to use mods, then has to abandon the installed version of the game and install it for the second time in order to maybe do anything about it. This feels both overly complex and extremely foolish to me.
I'm not following why you had to abandon the Steam installed version and move to the non-Steam version?

But to answer your point, the two versions must be different as one interacts with Steam and the other does not, so obviously they ... Read more

That's because you have a different cause, even though it's the same error message. Always best to start you own thread in future, thanks.

Has this always been the case for you? or it was okay up to some point?

It only happens on a large galaxy, is that right? And right from the start, or only in mid or late game play? Or only after playing for a period?

Is the problem only fps? Or also slow time passing, jerkiness in zooming or scrolling, long load times? All of those perhaps?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Is that on both machines? Because your report reads like your laptop has it and your home PC doesn't, for some reason.

I have it in my game and it shows in my Manage My DLCs list... is it that you used to have it and it's now gone? Or you've never had it?

This seems to have been the case forever:

PC game pass version missing content

I'm not sure how much people have noticed this, if any, but it appears that Stellaris on PC via gamepass is missing both the anniversary portraits and the horizon signal DLC. I noticed this due to me attempting to launch an old save, which seems... ... Read more

I ran this by some folks in the back end here.

TTS uses the OS language, not the game language. If you want it in English you'll need to set Windows to use English.

We speculate you are not getting Swedish in the game because you don't have a Swedish TTS pack installed in Windows, so it's using some other nearby language.

Not until the launcher devs diagnose and fix the problem, and release that new version. Sorry about that!

Why is it you cannot update, if I can ask?

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user empire designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

The executable and DLC folder are in Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris/
To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .

There's a known issue in that area with Gamepass CK3, but not Stellaris.

Is this with any mod on mods.paradoxplaza.com no matter how small or what type?

Do the mod files appear in Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mod folder?

That is a launcher installation error, nothing to do with the game as such. I suspect you can run the game from stellaris.exe

For that problem, empty out the c:\Windows\Installer folder - they are all temporary files so no real loss there.

Or if that folder does not exist, make it manually.

That error log seems to show a corrupted game installation. If you run a Steam Verify operation against the game, does it find anything to fix?

If that doesn't help, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

Dxdiag won't fix anything, it's just a way of me getting info about your system.

Certainly there's nothing I can do about this, as an external support contractor.

Probably best to make it a Bug Report in that forum.

Good luck!

Is this after starting the game from the Steam PLAY button?

Have you opted into any older game version in the Steam Betas tab perhaps?
