Sorry, my last update was dumb.

Try disconnecting the machine from the internet then starting the game up. Once n the main menu, reconnect the internet. Does that work okay then?

I am sorry but I have no ability to get the answer to that question - I'm just an external support contractor, I have no access to QA or the developers.

All I know is that this is a known issue, was attempted to be fixed in the previous hotfix (but they know that attempt did not succeed) and has attention from management.

I agree! I am now seeing other crashes like this since the recent patch.

Please make a new thread in Bug Reports, and attach there a save file that shows this problem.

Sorry about that!

Please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach the problem save(s) there.

Spoco said: Interesting. I'm gonna give it a try, but how exactly do i roll back to a previous version
If on the Steam version, right click on the game in your Steam Library, properties, betas.

No other edition can roll back.

If you make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that, do you still see this issue?

Spacenavigator1974 said: it doesn't solve the problem. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and the speed and performance problems seem to have been resolved. even random crashes seem to no longer exist. Yesterday, however, I started a new game and had to abandon it because it crashed on the same date. 3 times I reloaded and 3 times it crashes on the same date. the game automatically sends a crash report to paradox with the data and the reason. It's frustrating, every time a new DLC comes out I see that many have problems. This time it happened to me too.

Given that those two games use the same installation of the same launcher, it's a puzzle why one sees this and the other does not.

I don't see any relevant errors in those logs. Has this game always been like this for you, or it was okay up to some point?

What happens if you hit IGNORE on there?

Spacenavigator1974 said: good morning and thank you for the support and your work. I have all the Dovstellaris DLCs and 2000 hours of gameplay. everything always ran well, never a problem, even the late game was never excessively slow. the problem arose immediately with the installation of astral planes. It doesn't crash at specific times but randomly. when reloading the save it doesn't crash at the same point but later, often much later. furthermore, by opening the gate the game crashes more and is enormously slow, time almost doesn't flow and it goes very intermittently, sometimes it flows, sometim...

FYI, the software we're referring to scans your drivers and then updates them if need be. The paid version does a more in-depth scan than the free one.

You should never have to pay anyone for driver updates. What drivers are you seeing that for?

Right-click on stellaris.exe, properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullscreen optimizations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply, and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select the fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log   ...

MrLelito said: But that means that those games I start this way are not suitable for the achievements, right?
As i understand it, if you reconnect while in the main game menu, THEN start a game, you'll be okay in that respect.

You might want to provide a bit more detail about the crashes e.g. when does it happen? Does it happen at a particular date? The more detail you provide the better.

Having said that:
