The reason is pretty simple, there's probably around a thousand things people ask every day. We immediately test things that are breaking the game. While the puzzle is very important to some parts of the community, it also didn't stop anybody from progressing in the game (for example).

Therefore the priority on chasing up on details was pretty low. We understand that that can be pretty frustrating for some people, but it's how we need to work.

Thanks Chris! This is unlikely, but will there also be a fix for those of us stuck with fewer Ivory Keys than we're supposed to have in that update as well? If not, no worries, I'm sure it'll come eventually.

From what we understand and how we're seeing it in internal testing: If you're doing the Hunter puzzles "wrong" you don't get a key. For example Hunters that have a theatrical intro where they don't shoot you and basically just appear, some players can kill them right there and then, but they didn't fully do the riddle.

We're looking into this, but some players descriptions are also pretty vague, so if you have any more details (e.g. confirm that above is true for you) that could help us!

Hey! Is this happening right as you enter the game, or when you do something specific or something specific happens to you (e.g. a grenade goes off right next to you)?

You know, I understand confidence, but why didn't even a single resource, one guy, try this in production?

I've had people, not working in game development, mind you, but other fields that are similar. Where this much public attention, no matter how confident they were about the functionality of the feature, would absolutely assign a single resource to verify that there statement was correct.

Regardless of your account not being used for public statements, a statement was made. It can be misconstrued as a statement made, from knowledge that the "bug" was tested, and verified, and you are returning the results of that recent test.

Reasonably, people are pissed. Some people lost sleep, some people didn't, but almost everyone working on this is collectively pissed, especially since they were working under the pretense that this was assumed to be reliably working.

You don't deserve to be berated because of a mistake, but the community doesn't deserve to ...

The simple reason is that there are limited resources. There are a lot of things that are more critical for the game right now to be tested (e.g. the things we patched today). And then there's also simply human error.

We're chasing up on a lot of information on many different things and sometimes we either get it wrong, we miss out on something that is sent or we just plain and simple make a mistake. I don't want to make any ex...

It was more of a joke than anything else.

That being said, even if it is not your official twitter, attaching your name to anything and making a statement about the game is going to be viewed as (at the very least) a semi legitimate statement, if not something that will be taken as fact/an official statement. Just be mindful of that since that comment was essentially taken as fact by the (massive) amount of people trying to solve this

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate the input! The reason I'm vague in the Tweet is because of these concerns. We also made sure that we didn't gave any hints or comments on any of the official channels until now.

I understand the frustration that comes with a situation like that and it's definitely something we can do better in the future.

Be aware that you're linking to my personal Twitter account that is not an announcement tool. We also were confident that all of them are working but in the end were wrong.

So while I understand that this causes confusion, it's important that my wording was vague on purpose.

Hey. Sorry for the late reply on this, we wanted to make sure to not communicate something incorrectly.

The last cipher riddle is currently bugged and cannot be completed. We have a fix for this planned to go into the game next week Friday, with the Tidal Basin patch.

Retagging /u/Ubi-Johan as I would really love this to be fixed before wt5 drops.

It's something we are aware of. No ETA for a fix just yet.

Finally I have the chance to kill this guy and feel superior for once. Real life Yannick is just so damn... perfect.

This same issue is happening to me as well, only I am now WT3, almost WT4 and there is absolutely no way for me to unlock Specializations.

Help?

This is certainly something that we are looking into.

Done! Thanks for the tweet. Sorry to hear about your eyes :( My MS symptoms didn't present as optic neuritis but it's something I know a lot of people have to deal with but I did have a while where I couldn't game without a controller since my hands were struggling to work properly. I'll always push as hard as I can for things like this.

That's going to be changed. Current workaround is putting mods in the stash!

We've talked about this and the UI team agrees that there are some things that can totally be improved.

A workaround for now would be to play the game using DX11.

Hijacking Johan's comment:

  • Does turning off the Uplay overlay have any impact?
  • Anybody who does not have a NVIDIA graphics card experiencing any issues with DX12?
