Sorry about this.

Looking at your error.log file, it looks like your C:\ drive is quite low on space. If the game (or any other application, for that matter) needs to load more data than can be stored in your RAM, it starts using a paging file on your storage drive. If that runs out of space, things will crash.

I would recommend freeing up as much space on your C:\ drive as possible, since having low space available on your boot drive is generally bad.

You can also search for “adjust the appearance and performance of windows” after opening the Start menu in Windows. Under the Advanced tab, there’s a Virtual Memory section which will allow you to see the size of the paging file or move it. How is it configured on your machine?

I’ll see about us updating the system requirements for Last Epoch; this sort of problem can vary from system to system.

Thanks, I’ve had a look at your thread. Unfortunately we’ll have to investigate further for your case.

I certainly see your point that the crash logs point to a file that’s specific to the game; what’s difficult is determining why there’s a problem on some computers and not others, especially since this problem is not occurring for any of our team members.

Hi folks.

If you’re still having this problem, please contact support so we can assist you, as this is an account issue. We are still working on resolving the root cause.

Very sorry for the inconvenience!

Sorry about this! We’ll need to investigate this particular crash further.

@DesireDemon Actually, for nvwgf2umx.dll access violation we’ve seen success from performing a clean install of graphics card drivers with DDU.

Sorry about that! Please try repairing the game via Steam, and if that does not resolve it please upload the information specified in this support article.

Comment

@smcmickle @Salenai the Standalone and Steam versions of the game are exactly the same, so I wouldn’t expect changing platforms to resolve this unless there is another problem (i.e. system running out of resources).

Again, these problems can be different for every person so I would recommend posting your diagnostic files first.

Hi folks.

I’m sorry about the crashing issues. This is a rare problem compared to the number of people playing the game, but that isn’t really a consolation.

Generally, if the game started crashing after a hotfix, repairing the game is likely to solve it.

If repairing the game doesn’t help, please provide all the information listed in this support article inside a .zip so we can investigate, even if others have. Log files can often help us determine the exact nature of ...

@Lepik The top of your error.log file says nvwgf2umx.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005).

This dll is provided via nvidia’s drivers for your graphics card, therefore I’d recommend performing a clean install of the latest drivers via DDU. This fixed the problem for another person that had the same error.

Hi there,

Our support team had received tickets that indicated the macOS client was no longer able to login, so it was removed. We see now that this was affecting new users, but not existing ones, so the macOS client has been reinstated. Sorry about that.

Please note that the macOS client will not be updated further (it has been unchanged since December 2020) and will absolutely stop functioning at a future date due to server changes. All macOS players are fully entitled to use our native Linux or Windows clients on those platforms, or attempt to use virtualization, though we cannot offer support for virtualization software.

Could you show your completed quest list? If you defeated the boss in the Tomb of Morditas, you’re supposed to return to Heoborea and then head to an exit for the Solemn Path on the right.

We’ve re-released 0.8.4e to fix this. Currently the fix is only available on Steam for windows but it’ll be on other platforms soon.

Restart your game to update; you might need to also restart Steam for it to find the download.
