Lol, this^ is correct. But thanks for the (incredibly thorough!) report, will check to see if we’re already tracking this.

As a small gesture of our appreciation and support, we're running a Double XP for ALL event starting tomorrow, Friday, March 20 at 8:00 AM PDT* and lasting through Sunday, March 22 at 11:59 PM PDT. As Andy detailed in his recent studio update, the Rogue Planet dev team took steps this week to begin working from home - prioritizing the team's safety while also ensuring that our ability to support PlanetSide 2 is not disrupted. Live ops support (including several priority hotfixes this week) and future content development continues as planned, and we plan o k... Read more

All PC servers will come down tomorrow, Friday, March 20, at 6:00 AM PDT / 1:00 PM GMT for emergency maintenance. Downtime is expected to last up to 2 hours. We initially messaged this downtime as ~1 hour, but we've since confirmed a new hotfix for a rare crafting issue blocking some Outfits from pulling a Bastion even after crafting all necessary components. We're also including a data change for a flash event planned for this weekend (more details on that will go out shortly). As such, we're being cautious with our estimate - our expectation is that all servers will be back online by 8:00 AM PDT.

Stay safe everyone at RPG, I would be really upset if something happened to you lot after all the work you folks put into turning PS2 around.

Thank you! Our thoughts are with everyone in our community as well - stay safe out there. The communications challenge aside, I think we’re pretty well-situated now to not lose significant time when it comes to live service ops and future development.

EDIT (430pm, March 19): In case people missed my response below, 2XP is ON for this weekend starting after we patch tomorrow (~8am PDT) and running through Sunday, March 22 (11:59pm PDT).

---

We haven't confirmed dates/timing internally yet - getting the entire team setup in WFH environments to safely continue development took priority, bear with us! - but we had already been planning a 2XP event to make up for time lost due to the EU login issues last weekend.

We're just making sure those issues are fully resolved and that we don't have any remaining significant crashes occurring on Live before confirming timing.

Yea, that’s a cool idea. I’ll have to check with Carto, Wrel and co where there thinking is right now. It definitely is a topic we could/should really dive into whenever we’re able to livestream next.

Thanks for the post, u/OspreyyFR, really appreciate the amount of thought and work you put into this.

It's still (very) early for us to fully analyze how OW impacts the meta, given we haven't yet started qualification for our first preseason - and I'd emphasize that it IS a preseason, one we intend to use to gather community feedback so we can change, iterate, balance, etc. I 100% agree that what it means to be the "best" Outfit in PS2 isn't entirely clear-cut and quantifiable, and we don't want qualification to simply turn into a farming simulator for the biggest Outfits.

Apart from continuing to make changes to refresh the competition itself (I don't want to overtease before we've even played our first "war" but I think we have some pretty cool concepts that could play out ove...

We’re discussing make goods, but focused on shoring up the issues first. Hang tight, we’ll make it right.

Yes. I'll share what u/a_sites posted in his pre-Escalation dev letter on leaderless outfits (below). You can contact customer service at https://help.daybreakgames.com/hc/en-us. If you have trouble getting help, send me a message directly (here or on discord jgolenbo#0710).

yup, see my reply to u/IrishKing above. Working to get this tested and verified before tomorrow morning's planned hotfix (6am on Tues March 17).

/u/a_sites is there any update on properly fixing alert rewards? They are still not giving xp, certs, or ISO to players and it is excruciatingly frustrating. It's exacerbated by having double xp this weekend which is even more xp missed out on as well as my personal xp boosters I activated to ride the wave only to find out it's still broken after you said it was fixed.

Please, this is a pretty major turnoff for a lot of players and it needs to be put on the same urgency as the outfit crafting if not higher since it affects literally every player in the game. I worked so hard to try to win alerts and almost all of my efforts were for naught over the weekend, it's leaving a pretty shitty taste in my mouth to be bluntly honest.

We have a fix in the works that we're testing now, for tomorrow's hotfix (planned for 6AM PDT). But yes, absolutely high-priority, just need to be sure it's *actually* working as intended before rolling out the details.

see my comment above. We'll try to provide as many regular updates as we can. The quickest updates are usually from Andy's twitter (@andysites) or from the official PS2 account, but Andy and I will also try to jump in as many threads as we can.

Hopefully the changes we just made will fix the issue, but we'll keep troubleshooting until we're certain everyone on either Miller/Cobalt can login without problem.

It is our primary focus and will remain that way until it's fully fixed. Believe me, we feel your pain - it sucks not being able to connect. This is absolutely our top priority until we can verify that everybody who wants to get in the game can. We have TechOps personnel onsite at our new server hardware center coordinating throughout the weekend with our Dev and Platform teams back at the RPG studio, and will continue doing everything we can to fix this ASAP.

We did just make some server configuration changes to Cobalt and Miller to try and improve login connectivity while we continue to work on identifying the root cause - those changes went into effect almost an hour ago (around 2 PM PDT / 9PM GMT on Sat March 14) so if you were having trouble logging in before and A) now can, B) still can't, C) the problem seems alleviated but not entirely resolved, sharing that information here, on the forums or tweeting at Andy or the official account helps us.

Adding to Andy's note: we setup an open thread on the forums for players/Outfits to report lost crafting progress (and associated resources):

https://forums.daybreakgames.com/ps2/index.php?threads/march-13-2020-escalation-hotfix-2-pc.253628/

We're particularly looking at the window between the two Hotfixes - the first at 6AM PDT, the second at 130PM PDT - as one of our worries was that resetting the service Andy referenced might cause Outfits who tried to re-craft Assets they had lost after the first Hotfix to lose progre...
