I believe the current plan is to bring it back. Probably won't see it until closer to Beta though.

Basically, they can't spawn too far away from you for technical reasons. So the best solution is to opt for a base with a smaller footprint, and/or locating the position where you'll spend the night in the middle, equidistant from your outer walls.

For every seed that weighs nothing, you also carry around things that weigh tons.

To be quite frank: Deal with it. It's a reasonable tradeoff to be able to carry hundreds of tons in a slot based system in return for occasionally some super light item you picked up slowing you down a bit.

Also, I would find falling to my death to be a MUCH bigger slowdown and massively tedious game mechanic as compared to spraining or breaking my leg. Vehicles exist and aren't terribly hard to get and they largely negate the movespeed penalties of those injuries. By contrast, A death costs me a significant margin of time, forces me to run back out to where I died, possibly fails the quest I was on, etc, etc, etc.

Inventory management is part of the intended challenge. It's part of the risk you take when filling up. There are a number of ways to alleviate this as well.

As for falling, it's a game. Go see what they do in Assassin's Creed.

Why post a duplicate thread? Post in the current one!

Come on! Get your act together!

Seriously though, we don't need yet another thread.

When a zombie goes to destroy a block for destroy area mode, it would attack it because the block was in the way. On a partial block they would enter it and not attack it because it was not an actual obstacle. Now they know to attack those blocks when there are near them and not just walk inside it.

No. Bandits have their own specific clothes for each bandit type and tier.

1 Yes

2 No. The plan is they will crouch and/or find cover

3 No

4 Yes

5 No talk, but they might use the new system the zombies have, but it is not trivial to set up on each model

6 Nothing to show right now. Still cleaning up zombie systems for bandit use and other bugs like ragdoll problems

Hello everyone!
Today we have the first experimental build for A20.4 for you!

Server owners will need to add/modify these 2 new properties in the serverconfig.xml. These filters will help players find your server.

<property name="Region"  value="NorthAmericaEast" />
Values must be one of the following:
NorthAmericaEast, NorthAmericaWest, CentralAmerica, SouthAmerica, Europe, Russia, Asia, MiddleEast, Africa, Oceania

<property name="Language" value="English" />
Values: Use any language name that your players would expect to search for. Should be the English name of the language, e.g. not "Deutsch" but "German". This is a filter name only and DOES NOT SET the language for players.

To participate:
  1. right click on the game in steam
  2. click on properties
  3. click the "betas" tab
  4. the drop down menu will have latest_experimental available   ← you want THAT

Some would lament that they play an apocalypse game to get away from real life unfun stuff like taxes. But the idea could be framed differently. If it’s more like protection money you pay the Duke every week, so that he doesn’t send a band of bandits out to break your legs, then that’s exactly the kind of strong-arm lawlessness I expect in a post-societal-collapse world.

In terms of the practical effects on the game though, we already have this in my view. You pay a ‘tax’ in resources and effort every week to maintain the horde defenses that keep your character alive. And that ‘tax’ goes up every week, as measured by your gamestage.

For the record, I’m not saying this out of some fanboy sentiment that the game’s current systems already satisfy everything. I’ve always thought about the Blood Moon this way. I know there are still exploits, but that’s how it should work: the level of safety you enjoy is proportional to the amount of effort you p... Read more

That would not affect anything other than POI sleeper spawns.

I believe the burning barrel has a reduced heatmap compared to previously, but I don't have any older installations to compare with atm.

But in which current scenario would weapons on vehicle be overpowered?

Outside of POIs there are no threats (except for boars for some of us).
Inside of POIs vehicles alone don't help you anyways.

Leaves blood moons.
And here the super-vultures could still be modeled to be a threat, by...

My role is to moderate the forum, not develop the game. But I’m with you; I hope the Metal renderer is supported in the future.

Yes, but it's still years behind what Unity is capable of in this arena.

Outside of horde night, I think it’s a mistake to have vultures attack vehicles in the first place. Instead of passively nullifying them with armor, why not add some gameplay? Add a turret + gunner’s seat to the 4x4, so players can actively shoot down vultures without leaving the vehicle. This could be a blast in multiplayer.
