One example of immersion still existing and being really annoying is Eating/drinking. You used to instantly get the full food/water/healing and it was great. Because you never over ate. Now you eat, eat, eat, eat, eat those charred meats and wait, wait, wait to see if it was enough and how much you need to drink.

Peak immersion was probably back in builds where trees falling could kill you/zombies. You needed a cooking pot to make water....

Any amount would be better...

The next required wipe should be a21, which is many months away.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I am planning on doing bandits in two phases that will span two alphas as we are hoping for shorter alphas in the future by moving away from giant monolithic changes.

Hello!

Today we are releasing a small A20.2 patch to the live build.
It has a fix for turrets falling through blocks/the world and a NRE fix for the celebrate buff.

This patch should not have any conflicts with existing savegames.
A20.3 EXP will start soon and be meatier than A20.2.

If you want to help improve the game, file a bug report here.[community.7daystodie.com]

We hope everyone will have fun with it!

A20.2 b2 Changelog

Fixed
  • Null Ref when killing enemies with celebrate on
  • Turrets falling through blocks
  • CallGameEvent would not work on servers for clients

Honestly? I'd say no. It's a sandbox. Putting a definitive 'end goal' in, even if it's optional, will subconsciously skew players into focusing on that goal, and once done with it, they're left with 'What now?' syndrome and stop playing. Happens in every single survival sandbox game

Make your own end goal if you need something like that- It is, after all, a sandbox.

There are only 4 biomes now and 5 quest tiers including the starting one, so strictly speaking no, you couldn’t have each trader in a new biome. But you could guarantee there’s at least one trader in each biome, which doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

Just make sure you have hard disk space for it.

Save scrubbing is pretty common, but saves for 7 Days are a lot larger than most games.

I personally recommend using an incremental backup solution like Duplicati.

Using G635 I know the exact direction of anything around me, and almost exactly how far away it is...

At 1500 hours you've also adapted to how bad the sound is compared to OP who has 100. :P

I wouldn't say the directional sound is impassable, but it's barely passable.
Basically this. I do really hope that it get... Read more

No way, I like the drone over more space in my vehicle (probably because I hate running out to the vehicle and hate leaving it where it might decide to pop off and vanish).
Most runs I don't even bother putting stuff in the vehicle now.

In my last playthrough I crafted both melee and guns at QL5 (but not lower than that) and also as many as I had parts for so I could pick the best of the bunch.

A lot depends on how you play, if in a group, where you go...

There are more ways to get parts than just looting.

I want a call drone key. That way I can tell it to stay but whistle when I need it.

Right now I keep the drone in my inventory till I clear a POI of Zs to avoid ti getting in the way. Then I bring the drone out and do the looting.

That's a tough one. I'm usually inclined to try single player first in a new game, even for a game that's intended for multiplayer. I can figure things out at my own pace, and not be a burden on more experienced teammates. But I also find that it's enjoyable to share knowledge with newer players. Veterans can live vicariously through new players as the newbies encounter things for the first time. Or if you have friends that are interested in getting in on the ground floor together, that sounds like a good time too. Just don't do PvP. :spazhorror:

I kid. You can do PvP if you want, but people are mean in PvP and it's less for the faint of heart.

If you're looking for people to play with, you can swing by the Meeting Room sub-forum.

Basically this. For a very long time the builders have asked for a lot of the available shapes to be removed from the creative menu and made available to normal players.
The biggest restriction to this was a limitation in how block shapes and recipes functioned. In a20 this issue was resolved with the new shape system, and it also unlocked the ability to have a much larger variety of block shapes than the game had previously.

If you don't like to see all of the shapes, turn on the simpler view, or limit it to looking at shapes you have favorited.

I don't think I would be wrong in sa... Read more
