This should indeed be fixed in b336.

We were able to reproduce this bug and confirmed it no longer occuring in b336.

Affected savegames we prepared were also fixed after the fix was implemented.

We hope you continue to enjoy your savegames again!

We're back with our latest hotfix, v1.0 b335. This update fixes a major bug causing characters in saves with the 'Enemy Spawning' setting toggled off and back on to become fully encumbered and unresponsive. This was part of a larger problem related to an NRE involving sleeper volumes in specific POIs. This hotfix will also correct save files affected by this issue.

For our console users, this update also includes some stability improvements, specifically on the Xbox X/S platform.

While summer vacation may be almost over, we're STILL hard at work on optimizations, bug fixes, Roadmap updates, and getting v1.1 Experimental to you.

This update fixes a major bug causing characters in saves with the 'Enemy Spawning' setting toggled off and back on to become fully encumbered and unresponsive. This was part of a larger problem related to an NRE involving sleeper volumes in specific POIs. This hotfix will also correct save files affected by this issue.

You could try disabling SMT, which is AMD's hyperthreading
Since Unity 2019, that isn't going to have much of an impact. Game is currently on version 2022.3.29f1 (8d510ca76d2b)

TL;DR: Time-to-reach-you. It's all how long it takes to reach you. How long it takes to block, how long it takes to walk a path, how long it takes to ascend/descend as needed. Doors count as half HP (To represent the potential to be open or closed).

Shortest route, in time taken, is king. But if a zombie approaches from another direction it may decide beating through the wall there is faster than walking around to whatever opening some other zombies made; It may take them 20 seconds to walk around, but only 18 to beat through the wall and come from that direction.

For this reason, mazes of most types arent really feasible; they'll just choose to bash through. It's possible to use a maze like structure but it requires great care and player positioning to guide them through.

As for traps, Zombies do not recognize them as traps; They recognize them as blocks in the world to be navigated or destroyed. This includes spikes- If you build a 2 tall pile of spik... Read more

Wandering hordes can include any of the animal groups. Has been like this for literal years.

Imagine you're on day 1, and the wandering horde spawned in your general direction is vultures? Have had that happen.

RNG is RNG, Are you searching in the same areas? You can exhaust an area of it's animals and they wont respawn if you keep going through the same ones. Travel new terrain. If you really want meet and leather and have good gear, go to the snow biome for mountain lions, bears, etc.

100% This. Literally nothing is forcing your arm behind your back and clicking the buttons for you to go through those motions but yourself and your own evident inability to just.... not do that?

Like, I get it, It's a bonus, it's more efficient- But more efficient does not always mean fun. In fact, it pretty frequently means un-fun. I don’t know what people expect they should sound like, then. Vocalizations that somehow don’t involve expelling air? You can try it yourself: try to make mouth noises while keeping your throat closed. The range of sounds is limited, with no moans or gargles or belches. You can do a few things, like cluck your tongue or suck your teeth, but these sounds aren’t really recognizably zombie-like. If I were the voice actor and OP was the director, I wouldn’t know how to give them what they want.

The disparity I noticed today was that cooking pots and grills cost 600 to buy, which is substantially more than, say, acid at 420. That’s bizarre, since one is a Day 1 need and the other is a Day 40+ need or however fast one progresses. I don’t know if they stack well, but they’re certainly cheap to craft once you can.
