There is already a thread for discussing how long the game has been in development. It’s pinned to the top so you can’t miss it. Please discuss it all you want over there rather than cluttering the forum with redundant threads.

There's an existing thread on the topic you brought up- You literally even acknowledged the existence of that thread. Having 40 different posts on a given topic is similarly rather fruitless- So we lock or merge duplicates together to keep a cleaner forum experience for our users.

Ehrm... have you ever heard the story of that dog that ran a huge amount of miles to find the place where his former owner had been buried? How do you think they do that?

I mean, Star Citizen started development at least two years before TFP did, and it doesn't appear any closer to release.

The climbing zombie was removed, but even when it existed, Have you SEEN what parkour people do to walls? Not exactly magic to scale a wall... Especially one with handholds every meter on the meter at the least.

Demo has C4/bombs strapped to it's body as Seftak said.

Some living IRL animals vomit acid as an 'attack', A zombie doing it is an abnormal mutation- But not outside the keeping of reality.

The only thing that is arguably magical is the zombies ability to sense everywhere on horde night- But it's known that they're a hivemind, So it's very plausible, at least imo, That they're acting on information you aren't really aware of to pinpoint your location. Smells, previous awareness of sounds and lights, traces of you coming and going in an area that you never think about, etc.

We don't yet know how they're hiveminded together- But, it is nevertheless scientifically plausible in some way or another- Pando the tree for example spans 47,000 ... Read more

lol…Valve gets a hefty cut of every sale and are the ones who created the early access program with no deadline requirement. Why would they have grounds to sue or even want to sue?

Just like all reasonable people who read the guidelines and terms of use for the early access program they see that TFP is using it exactly as designed and have no problem with them continuing to use it until TFP elects to leave it just like they have no qualms about developers who choose to leave it when their product is still clearly unfinished.

The devs brilliantly kept it in "alpha" even though this game is more finished than some that claim to be "done". This way, they can just say "hey, it's alpha. Things don't always work right". No pressure to make sweeping changes. they made it look easy to be millionaires.
Just imagine what the operating costs are too. Even if it is 200 million over the past decade, there are a lot of other costs and fees that you aren't accounting for.
I'm not saying TFP isn't making money, but be realistic, it's not like they were able to just pocket 200mil.

The OP looks like borderline trolling to me, so don't be surprised if the topic poofs when it continues to go sideways.

Project Zomboid only beats 7 Days for longest by a few months. I don't know any others but there are a couple others I'm aware of who technically left early access but still play like they are unfinished games but I won't mention them since they did what some here are wanting this game to do...simply shed its EA tag and say it's done so that...tada....they aren't early access any longer....wink wink

Not too surprising but hey it's what they're allowed to do. Much like working on this game for 120 months in EA.
Do note that the parent post of that thread, happens to be the first thread on the subject. So they all get merged into the thread that already existed. It isn't about cherry-picking the post title.

Imagine that you go to post a thread, and look to see if the topic already existed before making your post.

Why did you answer a rhetorical question?

Wait!...that was another one, right?

Could be they are scared of criticism or it could be due to other reasons. Given the fact that you are able to post an all caps title criticizing them for doing it right here in the discussion forum is a pretty good sign that they aren't scared of the criticism. Regardless of comments being turned off in announcements, anyone can still comment on them in a critical manner as we've seen with this one as well as with the Labor of Love announcement.

Even on their own official forum when they announce a new update or post patchnotes those threads are locked because they are just....announcements.

It's obvious that some people are appalled by such a policy which is ironic since they still seem to find public places to give voice to their outrage-- all in caps even.

Correct. It is the 10 year anniversary of starting Early Access on Steam. It is not the 10 year anniversary of having released the game.

Other 10 year anniversaries, fyi:

Thanksgiving 2022 was the 10-year anniversary of when the Huenink Bros came up with the idea of 7 Days to Die.

July 2023 was the 10-year anniversary of the Kickstarter campaign.

August 2023 was the 10-year anniversary of the first playable version of the game.

Hopefully, the game will remain popular enough that we will someday mark the 10-year anniversary of its release. But nobody is claiming that that anniversary is now.

Alpha 16 was the end of 7 Days to Die 1
Alpha 18 was the beginning of 7 Days to Die 2

Alpha 17 was Alpha 17.
