It isn't quite feature complete yet. You are correct that the game isn't strictly alpha in the traditional sense. Their development has been a hybridization of alpha and beta phases and they have begun work on polishing and optimizing even though they still need to add a few remaining features.

I go based on my mood. Sometimes I start a new save and just godmode teleport around. Other times I spawn in a motorcycle and a full tank+one stack of gas. Other times still, I just go by what I earn in game, working my way up from walking to vehicles.

Each has it's place for me. But I gotta say, The runs I generally end up enjoying the most and that last the longest, are the ones where I walk everywhere and work my way up. I learn the terrain, I catch a lot more animals and notice a lot of little loot points an details that I don't when I take the other methods.

When you go to load your save, you can edit all of the settings on the right hand side. Can change em as often as you want.

Have a question what I would enjoy even more, the game has a lot of things in the meantime, also a level system and a lot to find in blueprints or additional knowledge, which has really become a lot in the game, are the developers actually planning a cross-server character, that you can take everything you have found in books or all your levels to other servers and not always have to start again? I would find that super interesting for my gaming fun, because it's really a lot that you can earn there^^
Character data is stored on the server, so it would not be transferrable.
Besides that, this type of method is generally not desirable because it could allow people to level up and make OP toons on a super easy server, or one with creative mode enabled, and then drop into a hard server or PvP server.

I agree with the above two posters. Let’s think this through. Were the devs to take a man who died in real life, and make an undead likeness of him, as an enemy for people to kill… let’s just say a flag is a more unambiguously respectful gesture.

I'm sorry, but your post does not make any sense.

Moving to the correct forum section. Take a gander at reading the Pinned threads there.

The only real thing about increasing the delay until it happens, is that it will increase the difficulty somewhat.

Not because of the day count.
Because you will be able to reach a higher gamestage before bloodmoon.

Same difference if you increase the day length to something like 90 minutes.

There aren't really any major cons unless you are focusing on min/maxing your character. In which case you will be a much higher gamestage than you have materials to defend. If you are playing as intended, then it is really no issue.

It sounds like you literally undermined your tower. You can build infinitely high if and only if there is an uninterrupted column of blocks underneath each voxel, all the way down to bedrock. Otherwise, structural integrity rules are going to kick in, and those tall pillars of blocks are going to rely on the dirt/stone or whatever’s adjacent to hold them up against falling into the hole.

So you can have a super tower over an underground base, but you’ll want to pay close attention to its foundation, and not go mining under where there are tall pillars of blocks. It would be easiest to do any mining first, before you build up. And while there are no compression forces (you can build on a haystack), I personally would dig out the dirt/stone and lay a foundation of player placed blocks as strong or stronger than the tower walls. That would give peace of mind that errant zombie hits or pickaxe swings won’t be enough to destroy a block underground and trigger a collapse.

I don’t recall how much you get for a stack of meat, but I know like other items you can only sell three stacks at once. It’s not about the money, it’s about running out of room in my food crate. And I only hunt opportunistically, when I see something. In comparison to, say, Hunter: Call of the Wild, 7 Days is shooting-fish-in-a-barrel level hunting. Animals are literally deaf. But sorry, I don’t mean to rant.

Yes, you can deplete the animals in an area, the same way you can clear out the biome spawner zombies. Both will return eventually. So it’s worth taking trips to new areas to hunt. Or put differently, if you’re going to a new area, it’s worth hunting while you’re out there, if you see something.

If you're willing to expand to more dangerous quarries, definitely head to the snowy biome. Bears and cougars abound. It's pretty ridiculous actually.

Edit: And the animal tracker skill is a no brainer if you want to maximize hunting kills. Though I find so much meat without it, I have to sell extra stacks of it to the trader.

Romans never used bayonets since they never discovered gunpowder and so never had a firearm to attach something sharp and pointy to the end of it.

Like you point out OP, the player gets to choose the difficulty, and which biome to inhabit. Higher-risk biomes offer higher rewards (How else would you want it?). Similarly, which POI to enter, and when to restart a game entirely, is up to the player.

Since all these things are in the player’s control, it seems to me it’s up to the streamer to figure out what is interesting for their audience. We can debate which of these choices are more or less interesting to watch, but surely the game isn’t at fault when a streamer opts for a less interesting choice. If watching someone encounter the unknown, that doesn’t know what they’re doing, is more interesting, then find a streamer that’s newer to the game.

It's 100% that most of them have played and replayed and rereplayed and rerererererererererererereplayed the game over the years... They know every little thing about the game and have long fallen into the trap of familiar patterns, They've been involved with 7DTD for so long that they know the best builds and for most people choosing to do something that is not the objectively best method is hard for them.. Jawoodle and GNS are a rarity in that they do try new things quite often in their base building, but even there they test it out and minmax it, there's no on-the-fly 'will this even work?' suspense. You know, because of who they are, that they've tried it out and it WILL work.

It wouldn't be a matter of starting from scratch for a travelling NPC/Trader. There is already coding for that in place which I believe some modders have capitalized on. I agree that it would be faster and simpler to just tweak the existing traders but it wouldn't take very much work to get something like the OP's traveling magazine salesman up and running.

I'm playing a mod right now that makes it so that all weapons, armor, and tools found in loot are broken and can only be used for scrap and parts and traders only sell up to orange quality of anything. Purple quality is intact but can only be found at a much higher lootstage. So far I'm crafting everything.
