Yes. But only the trader vending machines specifically; The purchasable Player Vending Machines are only for Player->Player sales.

The ones in the trader will occasionally have things sold to random non-existing NPCs. But if you check on them too often, it won't sell things very often- Just set it up and come back in a few days or a week, minimum come back the next day. If you're searching for the Id to do the give command, it's infinitely easier to enable creative mode using the 'cm' command, exit the F1 console, and press U to open the creative menu; That menu has a search field near the top that lets you simply search by name whatever item it is you're after. Just be sure to disable it again if you care at all about achievements.

I've been bugging Joel for a Katana for probably six or seven years now, and I keep getting told no. Same for offhand shields or dual weapons.

Because the player can't look at themselves, and generally aren't looking at other players either- You ARE however constantly looking at zombies.

The priority between the two is rather obvious.

I would argue that the agility tree is about agile accuracy; The fortitude tree is more about hip fire accuracy, with it's top tier weapon basically being an LMG perfect for spray and pray into a group, and it's mode of fire and accuracy basically rendering unwieldly for aimed accuracy.

There are no such restrictions on crafting, at least in vanilla. You could go your whole game without doing the tutorial quest, if you wanted to.

OP, we could use some more detail on what you’re doing: how far you get towards making the bedroll and what result you’re getting.

Lets look at real world stats for the items in game.

Wooden Clubs do 12 damage at tier 1, and 18 damage at tier 6.
Wooden Bats do 19.2-20.8 damage at tier 1, and 28.8-31.2 damage at tier 6.
Steel Clubs/Bats do 15.15-27.25 damage at tier 1, and 37.73-40.87 damage at tier 6.

Weather currently just isn't that big of a deal; Especially in the forest area, basic clothing will keep you cool enough except when standing directly adjacent to heat sources.

You'll notice the impact when visiting other biomes at least- If you aren't dressed warm in the snow, or dressed for cool when visiting the desert.

??? "You have to do X or fall behind"? What? The game self balances around your playstyle; If you're slow, the game gets difficult more slowly; If you're fast, it gets difficult faster. You dont HAVE to do almost anything beyond finding food and water. You dont even need a base to fight off hordes; You could build a cobblestone castle out in the woods without ever even approaching a city.

As for the horde night thing, Horde night does not end until sunrise- End of. If you log out, and back in and it hasnt hit sun rise (4~am), Of course it's still horde night.
