Getting better every patch and 1.0 won’t be an exception!

For what it's worth my guy, you guys have the best arpg controller / hybrid support in the genre. I play hybrid quite often, so ease the PoE click strain on my hands and I rarely struggle with doing anything, so you're on the right track, just keep it up!
Thanks :) it's been a planned feature since day 1. We do still have a few key missing features and bugs to fix with it.
Out of curiosity, are there any plans for being able to use the same characters on console as well as PC?
To be honest I'm gonna buy the game again for console regardless (playing on the big TV is too tempting), but being able to keep progression between platforms is always a nice surprise.
We don't know yet. It's really going to come down to technical limitations. We would like to not split the community but it might not be up to us.
Any plan for macOS support?
No.
It's not impossible that we might bring back our macOS support but we have no plans for it at the moment.
Oh rip, if you could do local coop on console that would be freaking amazing! There is simply not enough good couch coop games available these days.
Local co-op is an entirely different kettle of fish and is even more work than just a console port. It is possible that it might be considered to be maybe worked on sometime in the far future...maybe. We have no plans to do a local co-op mode yet.
Thank you for having it on GeForce now, please keep it there the game is great.
It is great that some of these platforms like GeForce Now and Steam Deck work automatically. I just want to be super clear that these are technically unsupported platforms still and they do have bugs that we don't have on our to-do list.
They are just naturally really good which is awesome but we just don't test new builds on those platforms yet. They will be part of our additional platform planning and might become officially supported.
Are there any plans for bettering controller support before 1.0? As it stands it’s pretty hard to aim abilities or play a lot of classes
Yes, every major patch for as long as I can remember has had controller updates. Controller support is a 1.0 feature.
No.
We have not started console development at all.
After 1.0 we will begin to evaluate which additional platforms we want to bring the game to. PlayStation and Xbox are likely to be at the top of that list.
We do not have a set timeline for the release of Last Epoch on console.
We do plan to bring it to console.
Do you have a passive node which limits you to one companion? This would make your squirrel limit 2.
Well, they mostly weren’t before and you’ve got quite a lot of things on that list but some of that, yea.
Hey thanks for the response. Don't worry I won't take as scripture haha. Best of luck with the lead up to 1.0.
Ps: spoil a falconer skill xoxoxo
Falconry :)
I think one key piece of information that might be missing here is that we created the current version of our playable characters to be specific characters, not a blank slate to be molded. So what we’re actually saying is that this one specific person is a rogue and this one specific person is a mage and this one specific person is an acolyte. The acolyte character was originally a disciple of the mage and left him to pursue different types of magic. They aren’t inherently evil magics either. The mages viewed them as unsavory but that’s just their views on it. The Acolyte has gone on to be a very successful master of those different magics and save the world just the same. She is still very much a hero. The Knight character, back in like 2018 before it was changed to be the sentinel, was actually female and she is also still in the game at the End of Time to talk to. I think the biggest disconnect here is that we let you name the character. This immediately gives a sense of creation...
Read morePlease remember to keep conversations Civil. Player harassment is not acceptable. Real World Politics, Religion, and Ideology are not appropriate topics for discussion in Last Epoch spaces.
Our responses concerning character customization have not changed, the responses Andrew linked earlier are still applicable, including that it’s something we would look at after 1.0. The reasoning for this is still correct, in that we designed Last Epoch to place significance on each character’s silhouette to make them visually distinct, and that character customization is a ‘very’ large task which was not budgeted to take place for 1.0 as it requires double the amount of work with models, animation, rigging, voice acting, armor and weapon fitting, cosmetics fitting, and more.
I backed this game almost day 1 on Kickstarter, and I haven't been disappointed yet. So excited we're finally getting 1.0! Good luck guys, hoping for a good launch!
Thank you for your early support 🍻
Exciting! I'm hyped for the Warlock and Falconer to come out. I was hoping you could confirm either way if there will be any expansion to Endgame content before/with 1.0?
No big end game system expansion at 1.0, though the item faction system will certainly mix into the end game loop. Don't worry - we have big plans post 1.0 and will be regularly releasing content. I've spoken to it a bit before, but it's worth reiterating in this response: We want and have plans for the following end-game content for post 1.0:
- Very high difficulty static (non-scaling) boss content
- More system layers to Monolith
- more itemization chases
This is of course a very quick, off-the-cuff list, so don't read into something not existing or anything like that.
Im glad to hear that. I made that big post last week about it and i really hope it portrayed my love and passion for this game! Feel like you guys chose a great timeline and sending the team all our energy we believe in yal!!
Edit: also i didnt think about it before but it really is amazing and very rare in gaming community for a playerbase to welcome and even encourage a delay in release for the betterment of the game instead of selfishly just wanting to play it sooner. Shows how much we truly love this game!
Cheers
thank god! so glad they listened to us and pushed it back. i think thats enough time to fix some of the glaring bugs wooooo hyped
I will say that people's posts prompting us to push back gave us a lot of comfort in doing so. I very much appreciate everyone looking out for the best interest of the game/studio!
Ohhh, That's on my Birthday! :D
We have a surprising amount of birthdays in the studio that week, including mine on the 18th. Will be a fun birthday!
Great decision to push the game back, gives the team breathing room to prioritize without crunch or scramble (hopefully). Excited for 1.0?
Extremely excited. Getting to go through and make things nice is already a ton of fun this development cycle.
That’s right, it will just be a detailed look at the upcoming system.
