I brought this up to our lead designer and he was taking a look at it. I can’t remember if there was any movement to address auto-aim specifically for melee abilities (melee abilities’ auto aim is a lot more loose then non-melee skills).

I fully agree auto-aim in this situation is feels extremely odd and shouldn’t happen in natural gameplay.

We’ll be fixing this so that penetration from area level does not apply to self damage.
Edit: there are complications with specific cases such as Diothaen’s Bloody Nib so the fix may not be coming soon.

Tongue of the Aberrant Seer provides +1 to Poison Spell skills, so for a skill to be affected it will need to have the Poison tag and the Spell tag. Aura of Decay doesn’t have the Spell tag, unfortunately.

I suspect the issue you were encountering was the Arcane Ascendance bug which we addressed in the 0.9j patch. It was causing severe latency issues even while not being used, as long as it was on your action bar.

For those who are experiencing other issues, such as endless loading screens in monolith, I have some questions to narrow down the problem:
Is this occurring on offline or online play?
Does it occur consistently after certain steps are taken?
Does it occur for all timelines available to you, or only specific ones?
Also if you could upload a player log, that would help us....

We’re aware and we’re spot treating when time permits. There’s been talks of redeveloping the hideable system all together as adjustments individually are taking a decent amount of time. At best, we remake the hideable system, and at worst you’ll see much less of these in the future as we tackle them individually and are more mindful of the issue when making new areas.

Sorry for following up so late, unfortunately the logs didn’t have any useful information for this issue.

If you’re still able to consistently reproduce this issue, I have some questions:
Is the bugged character Hardcore? Are they Character Found?
eme_obs reported that characters affected by this bug also don’t die upon reaching zero health. Does this occur for you?
You mentioned the first character created in a play session always works, while future characters don’t. Is that consistent? Are there any other discrepancies you notice between the first and future characters?
Another user reported the issue occurring when entering the game in offline mode (at the login screen, before choosing an offline character). Are you doing the same? If so, does the issue still occur if you enter the game in online mode before selecting an offline character?
Does the issue occur even if you exit game in the first area, The Forest Trail?
How are you exiting the ...

Hey all, sorry about this. We’ve consistently failed to reproduce this issue internally so it’s been difficult to find a proper resolution to the problem.

We have another change planned that should hopefully address this.

Hello! Have you tried verifying your game files to see if that fixes the issue? I tried to reproduce the bug but was unable to, which is why I’m guessing you may have a game file missing. Verifying your game files through steam should fix the bug if a missing or corrupt file is what is causing this for you. Please let me know if this fix works for you!

Suppose one had been playing continuously since the Big Bang: is there a greater than 50% probability that a 4LP RV would have dropped by now? Because I'm totally willing to skip to another branch of the multiverse if necessary.

Lol I don't have the numbers easily available. I also feel like people generally lose their ability to properly comprehend the size of numbers in a situation like this around 1 million.

It's rare enough that you shouldn't plan to have a Legendary Ravenous Void in your build, let alone a 4LP version. I don't know what the actual numbers are off the top of my head but the chance is low enough that as humans, we can't properly comprehend how low the chance is.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not technically possible and saying otherwise to OP is stupid.

I think it's an important signpost example. If RV is technically possible to be found with 4LP as one of the rarest LP items, then so are the other ones. So, from a strictly technical standpoint, RV is possible to drop with 4LP. There isn't anything which explicitly prevents it.

I get the impulse to say that it is technically impossible because it is practically impossible, however because they are looking for information regarding the system as a whole, I think it is important to be precise.

No, it is technically possible for Ravenous Void to drop with 4LP. It's just so rare that it's not practically possible.
