Just posted an update to Twitter, it's still going to be localized but we filmed it quickly and wanted to get it out ASAP

The audacity to say Tim instead of Mr. XY

There are +100,000,000 monthly players (1.25% of the entire human population). Only 6,000,000 reddit subs.

How many of those subbs check the reddit every day? How many see a post like this? And how many actually scroll to the comments to read the dev responce?

If this is how they communicate, at best they are communication with 1-5% of the total player base.

Pathetic.

I wouldn't say it's our main form of communication, if something is important or relevant for the general playerbase it should go on the website or in the client, since that's the only place every player is going to see it. Before you ask, yes, we missed by not having precise ranked start time information available there.

For other things that are smaller individual questions, or opinions about the state of the game, I'm curious what communication methods you'd like to see. We do post broader articles like quick gameplay thoughts that attempt to address some of these things at a broad scale, but our general take is that it's good to talk to players where they're talking (and talking like humans to them because devs are humans too, we're not PR robots). I only speak English so I'm try to be active on Reddit & Twitter, been looking at Discord, we've done some outreach in other language communities too.

Simple right 😁 excited to see how this all plays out

Howdy friends, we're still working on both of these, but are holding off on them to give them a bit more spit n' polish.

Specifics, you want specifics!
For the offscreen pings, working on a few separate bits:
- some icon readability issues
- Making it work well for colorblind players
- Making it properly snap to the HUD
- Providing some small onboarding so folks know how to turn it on/off

So yeah you could have it now but we'd prefer it to be nicer before we release it. Currently targeting 13.3

Ward updates are also in progress but I think may be a bit further out.

But to me it has definitely felt like a witchhunt rather than 1000s of people naturally reaching the same conclusion, as it certainly wasn't what I felt after watching or what I felt ppl outside of social media are thinking about it. The cinematic was obviously not on the same scale as last years but I've found the response intimidating even as a player...and this is just one thing. I'm not surprised if people are struggling to engage with the community, it's a lot of weight to take on to be so public facing.

Yeah, I am also passionate about things, but telling a pregnant woman that you hope her unborn child dies because you didn't get a 4 minute CG cinematic is beyond the pale.

That's a very terrible way to think about it. For starters people are largely upset because there was no communication. For example, the community was expecting a real cinematic, while Riot knew that that wasn't happening. If we knew that there wouldn't be a real cinematic, sure some people would have been dicks, but it's the internet, someone is always a dick. But you wouldn't have seen the huge outrage that we saw this week. And even with that issue, as soon as the community got upset Riot went into radio silence. Almost no Rioters have commented on it and most of the comments were vague and dry.

When the community got upset the EP and the official account released a statement. What more are you looking for Riot to say?

Usually the patch notes also get updated, but it’s a process and usually happens like after a day

Yup, patch notes have to be translated into every language that we support which takes quite awhile, we also can't publish them until the changes are already out to make sure that they get out to live effectively and without issue.

This is a known bug we're fixing, it's only for that part of the client, you can still see the current season games and W/L under the stats tab in your profile for now.

Hey, we were able to find the problem here and are working on a fix. There's a chance it could require them to re-seed but we'll see if that's avoidable.

Thank you so much for this. This could help other people doing the same thing.

Interesting. We don’t test with 3rd party frame capping at all. So, you get decent frame rates with your in game frame cap only?

Maybe it is the oscillation of power states with this new GPU. I don't know. Usually its the CPU which is the bottleneck, as League doesn't push the GPU very hard.

It doesn't need it. It is doing all the rendering it needs to do in between 1 and 5 milliseconds. Then it rests, waiting for the CPU to ask it render again.

That is interesting. Thanks for that. It would explain why your GPU is oscillating between taking 1ms per frame and 5ms per frame. It's probably dropping back into a lower power state - League is CPU limited, so a High end GPU will render League in very little time.

What you are experiencing is pretty much expected behaviour right now. We are working on improving the performance in team fights as well as overall, so hopefully that low end of 80fps will be higher in the future. If its not better in 6 months, come talk to me again.

A description of what you are experiencing would be handy. From that RPD, it looks like you are losing focus a lot. Are you alt tabbing out from the game repeatedly? For the most part, the game is running well over 100fps, just when the focus is lost, it drops back to 60fps.

I can't tell if you are doing the focus switches or if its a League bug.

The problem has been resolved. If you're still having issues, then its something else.

The RPD you gave me showed a PracticeTool game, where you did something at 27 seconds into the game that caused a significant slowdown, after which, the frame rate was decent again. I can't tell what caused that, as I don't know what you did. Do you have an RPD of an actual game?

Looking closer at the data, are you running on a 175Hz monitor? Because for the first 26 seconds, your frame rate is limited to 175, even though it should be just running as fast as it can. The CPU is stalling, waiting for the GPU for multiple milliseconds. For some reason, it looks like your system is frame capping itself to 175Hz. Maybe even forcing a VSync, even though League isn't doing that. See what Monitor and GPU settings you have in that area.
