No surprise champions! We are decreasing our roadmap size so we staff up Modes team etc. But I do want to make sure each champion gets their time and space to shine :D Sometimes that means revealing too much at the start would make things not as exciting!

omg, that's a long and detailed answer! I will honestly say here I prefer that devs choose the vgu because the result is much better if someone has an idea or inspiration for where they want the vgu to go, with a poll a champ can be chosen where no one in the devs have any clue what to do with them. well, now to my question, the sololaner will be talked about in the next roadmap right? I feel like u hid a lot in the last teaser image but I can't wait to hear the name!

I will see how much I can talk about in the next roadmap/ if there will be a roadmap because this year I think lots of champions will benefit from element of surprise haha.
Let me cook.

While I agree that its better to get inspirations first before embarking on the rework...if we leave it up to designers we might never get reworks
So there is basic expectations for designers to be on a project and take it to finish line without having to come to the first meeting with a great idea. It is part of designers' jobs :D

I believe one of them was already started before poll results and the other one started after. Both took around 1 year.
Skarner actually didn't take too much more than that. However, we announced the poll before we were ready to start because Udyr was heavily delayed.
Udyr was heavily delayed because he was generally a very very resource heavy project. His various forms and ultimate skin took a long time especially during a global pandemic. TBH, during the pandemic, while I was not on champs, there were days where I was just heavily depressed and just wanted to sleep all day...

We also went through a period where we are training new designers, animators, VFX etc etc up on the team. This is good for overall health of League. It was how we are able to staff up modes. However, first projects are always a painful one for team to figure out how to work together.

Being honest, Udyr was not easy because of the bulk and Skarner started turbulent. We did not reall...

Congrats on getting Skarner out, I'm sure everyone in the team is relieved it's finally happening! Sorry to bother you with this, but do you have any update on when the next champ roadmap will come out? Is it still in April or will it be a bit later? And will you talk about the Arcane VGU or is that still top secret?

I will probably not be talking about the Arcane VGU till it releases! While I love sharing more with players, this is one of those that I think the fun is in the theorycrafting, guesses and surprise!

We're working on solving griefing issues as well but we don't really want to speak on it until we have something tangible to share. Hopefully soon™ we'll be able to share some of the work the team has been doing. This is just something that we can talk on right now because regardless of the reason, its still a problem too.

I don't want to keep saying "we're working on it" just as much as you don't like hearing/reading "we're working on it" again and again.

Hey there,

We've been actively tracking and actioning these groups at regular cadence, with hundreds of accounts being banned. This is a persistent group, and they have been willing to purchase a large amount of higher ranked accounts in order to circumvent the actions they receive.

Many of these accounts are stolen/compromised, causing collateral damage to the innocent account owners as well. We are working on multiple aspects of preventative technology for these sorts of behaviors (i.e. Vanguard for hardware bans that prevent these individuals from even entering game), but in the meanwhile, reporting these players does help them get to our eyes and out of game faster.

We're as upset about it as y'all are and we've been talking about these types of cases internally.

While we've fixed erroneous seeding of people who played normal games moving forward, we can't retroactively fix the cases of people who played their first games a month ago before we pushed the fix. (we looked into it, but it can't be done at the scale or speed that we need it to 😭😭)

The second set of cases look like bots 😭. If a player plays just aram or bot games they don't go through our seeding pipeline. This is also not something we're happy with and are looking at improving, but for these cases in particular, hoping that vanguard removes them from the ecosystem entirely.

Again, apologize for the experience, we're working on things and split 2 reset should hopefully put the erroneously placed players back in their right places.

Some questions I would ask a designer who proposed this:
- What is your actual goal here? I am inferring that it is: Make people care about honor more and therefore be more prosocial and less toxic. What other ways have you considered to accomplish this?
- Ranked is not all of our hours, how does this function in queues that do not have LP?
- How would you account for premades primarily honoring each other today?
- Do you think its positive that you are tying the honor vote in some way to a system that is suggestive of playing well as opposed to being v chill? What happens when we cross those streams?
- Is 1 LP a meaningful reward for people? Why not higher? At what point are the constraints of your solution fighting the impact it could have?
- How does this impact the ranked system over time? Would people have less confidence in it if they thought there were folks who were "Honor inflated"?
